Mixed feelings about this hotel.
Booked it as I was looking for an affordable place to sleep in Bruges, where hotels tend to be rather expensive.
If you arrive by car, park in the “Zilverpand” parking nearby, prices are very reasonable even if you stay a few days. On foot it will take you 5 mins to get there.
Friendly welcome upon arrival.
Room (superior) spacious, but with the black curtains and wardrobe and dark mauve walls the room felt oppressive none the less - we only stayed there to sleep, and didn’t feel comfortable relaxing in the room. Also due to the fact that during the opening times of the Scotch and Soda clothes shop, we could hear the basses of their music in our room which was super irritating. Ugly view to an inner courtyard. Bathroom spacious with good shower, but persistant faint smell of drain and nonfunctional ventilation.
No ventilation or airco in the room either, it was stuffy and very warm during the night and we slept with an open window - in November! Can’t imagine the heat in the summer.
On cleanliness, nothing to criticize.
Bed big and comfortable, but too soft for us.
We went out for breakfast, so cannot comment on that.
Nicely decorated lobby, but questionable deco of the rooms - Mao Tse Tung deco on the wardrobes - why?
Quick chekout, convenient location.
Wouldn’t return and prefer to pay a bit more for a truly relaxing atmosphere.

Stayed here for 3 nights, absolutely loved it! Loved the city too! Hotel was clean, staff friendly, breakfast was delicious. Shower smelled a little weird, think its part of the plumbing system throughout the town though. Definitely recommend staying here, great location, our room was huge too!

This hotel is truly wonderful, and the staff are absolutely fantastic. Walking distance to the train station, and tucked away from the main street. Our room was immaculately clean. The continental breakfast was included and was delicious, and the staff kept the food stocked up. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Our stay at the Sablon got off to a poor start as they mismanaged our booking and were not expecting us for the first night. I was concerned when they would not send a new confirmation after we changed our travel dates and even called an extra time to verbally confirm our stay dates. Since we did not speak the language, I cannot be sure but it seemed as though they did not try very many options to put us in another hotel of equal or better standard. They ended up placing us in a horrible hotel/hostel for that night. Bruges in general is NOT wheelchair friendly although the Sablon maybe the friendliest hotel in the city center area. The Sablon does require a ramp to go over a small step inside and they will bring it out upon request. The room was extremely spacious and great for the wheelchair. The hotel was tricky to find.

We stayed here for one night as a family. Entering through the courtyard the hotel is well laid out. The greeting we received was lovely and the chap on the desk very friendly and helpful. He showed us to our room which had two separate bedrooms, two lounges, two bathrooms and all a great size. The hotel is centrally situated and so easy for walking around the main parts of Bruges. The beds were extremely comfortable. The breakfast gave ample choice and the lady attending kept all the dishes stocked and well presented. We would like to thank the hotel staff for a fabulous stay. Keep up the good work. We shall be recommending your hotel for sure.

Was surprised by how nice the hotel was, the staff were fantastic and very helpful. Nice breakfast included in the cost of the room. Very close to the main attractions and markt. Walking distance from the train station which made things easy. There were a couple of things that would have been a nice addition to the room such as an iron or a kettle but overall we cannot complain and would recommend this hotel to others.
