Our family spent four nights here celebrating an 85th Anniversary. There were 9 of us in the party aged 21 to 85 and we really enjoyed exploring the area, from Cardigan in the south to New Quay in the north, and all the coves in between.
The local beach is idyllic, though it's a very stiff climb back up to the house, so you need to be fit, or else run a car down to pick up the less able (there's very little parking at the bottom). The Ship has great views across the bay from the deck, though the drinks are pricy and we didn't try the food - again it's a good hike back up the hill.
The house is ideal for a family party, though can't vouch for its child-friendliness as ours are all over 20. The big kitchen and dining room were particularly appreciated, as were the comfy beds. The bedrooms would benefit from more shelves and better mirrors for hair/makeup and more storage in the shower room, but not a big problem for a short stay.
We spent a wondeful week in Tremle in August. The house is family friendly with everything we needed for a relaxing week. The owners are very helpful and we'd highly recommend the beef and pork from their local farm which was delicious. The house is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes walk to the beautiful beach of Tresaith. We also loved being so close to the coastal path, walking to both Aberporth and Penbryn, and also enjoyed visits to Cardigan, a boat trip to see dolphins, kayking and paddleboarding. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful house, great location, lovely large garden, had great bbq.
Couple of minutes walk from lovely sandy beach.
Wow we even saw dolphins!
Would highly recommend this property.
Jane the owner couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome.
Definatly will be returning, might try water this time as lovely log fires and country walks
At Tersaiath this cottage is superb.
We did have a few minor issues ('issues' seems to be to harsh a word} but they were dealt with FAST!!! I can not recommend them enough on how quick they were to solve these 'issues'
FIST CLASS ALL ROUND!
Absolutely amazing property, in an amazing location! I booked Tremle as a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday. On the weekend there were 10 of us who slept comfortably, with myself, husband, daughter and dog staying the remainder of the week. Every last detail has been thought of, even down to the bedding smelling beautiful and fresh. The house is spotless and the grounds kept beautifully. The owner Jane is so helpful in the run up to the trip and even had the goodwill to tell me that a door had been replaced so there may be a slight smell of paint! We adore the area, and it is a stones throw away from the idyllic Tresaith beach. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or to recommend (and I’m very fussy!).
Certainly this house will accommodate 10 people in space and comfort – two minutes from the beach by car (very limited parking) up a steep hill, or up steps for about five minutes if you are fit. The sea cannot be seen from the house.
The house is very well equipped but as is often the case with house rentals it doesn’t seem that the owners live in them every so often to get the full 'guest experience'. This is a pity, as with attention to small details, being in the house for a week or more the stay would become even better. Sharp kitchen knives would be a start, wine glasses of which there are plenty that fit in the dishwasher, cereal bowls that take up less space in the dishwasher would also help.
All this apart, the owners were always helpful and a welcome bottle of wine was appreciated. A larger welcome pack which could be pre-ordered perhaps, when the nearest super market is 8 miles (20 minutes) away and the house needed complete stocking of absolutely everything needed for daily living for at least a week after an almost inevitable long drive, would also be appreciated by many I would expect.
There is a large garden which children will find fun to play in and hide as it is becoming overgrown with trees and shrubs.
Tresaith is a charming location, with a good and popular pub, ‘The Ship’, and a small shop with tourist some interesting cornucopia which serves excellent ice cream, teas and coffees very close to and overlooking the beach. The beach is clean and supervised daily by trained RNLI lifeguards.
Nearby are several other beautifully unspoilt beaches and all in wonderful countryside. Out of season it was magical.
