The atmosphere was great and cute little restaurant. Service was great and food was good. Price is average in touristy town. I looked other places, it's not the expensive or cheapest either. The portion is not big, average (like france portion?) and it's enough for me . We ordered 2 sides and main dish.

This small restaurant is situated right beside the historical wall and built over a 2000 year old viaduct. The inside is very beautiful.
The food was excellent. We started with a soup and fried squid. The pumpkin and bean soup was a generous portion and very good. The squid was fried and very tender.
Our main course was the codfish, which came mixed with eggs and potatoe,(the English translation said chips) along with a salad, it was very good. We also had steak with mushrooms and frites. Steak was done as i requested and the sauce was terrific.
We finished the meal with an apple and walnut cake with ice cream. The cake was very moist and tasty.
The whole bill with wine and a sparkling water came to €34.
would highly recommend Chao das Corvas Cafe.

Nobody seems to mention that this place is under a 2000 year old aquaduct ! What a location. The food was excellent. Bacalhao and pork both delicious. The last writer is ignorant about Portuguse food so should be ignored in my opinion. Give it a try.

Food here was ok. Just be careful with the English translations on the menu and the english spoken was basic. I chose cod with egg, chips and salad. What came out was a bowl of blended fish mixed with minced potato bound with egg that was very salty, and a salad on the side of chopped lettuce leaves with vinegar. Make sure you spend a bit more time than i did understanding what the meals is. Ordered the local cheese for the entree, it was old hard and a average taste, dont bother with this it was very average. Prices were ok.

We were recommended this restaurant by our host and it was wonderful! Only about 6 or 7 tables so very quaint and small. The menu is on chalk boards and the food was excellent. Have the black pork cheeks with apple sauce - you won't regret it!!! Also the chocolate and port pots for dessert were delish. Definitely worth a visit to this little gem of a spot.
