Last July we booked this apartment and paid the full amount for the holiday plus booked flights. It is 4 months away and we have just received an email from air bnb informing us that the owner has cancelled our booking even though it has all been paid for and has been since July. There is no reasons given and he couldn’t email himself. It’s bad that air bnb will let this happen and disrespectful for the home owner to just cancel our booking. If we had cancelled we would be charged so why is there not a charge for them cancelling on us! Now we have to find somewhere else and with 4 months left it’s put us in a difficult situation, also trying to get a refund on our flights will be a lot of hassle! I wouldn’t recommend staying at this place due to an owner not keeping his word!
We had planned to stay here in July with a large group of friends. We had paid in full and booked last July to make sure we could all be together. We have all been looking forward to this holiday for a large period of time. Today we received an email out of the blue from air bnb explaining that we would receive a full refund and we couldn’t stay here anymore. No excuse, it’s not like the owner didn’t have enough notice in advance! The host himself didn’t even have the guts to contact us himself but instead did it through air bnb. Terrible service and I wouldn’t recommend staying here as you’ll probably be let down like we have.
