The restaurant is located in a beautiful building (old ruin) right on the beach, we had a table at the nice terrace on the 1st floor with a great sea view.
The very service minded waiter asked us to go upstairs for choosing the fresh fish we wanted from the counter. We took salmon which was perfectly grilled and soo good! Nice wines from Portugal to choose among and the waiter was positive to give us recommendations. Also the dessert menu was excellent. Would definately eat here again if we travel to Albufeira.

The Ruina is a top class establishment with a great view over Fisherman's Beach. Its expensive compared to others on the Algarve so is more for a special dinner than a casual meal. Service is good and the food is excellent especially the fish dishes.It loses a star due to the fact that the only way to eat is to choose off the range of fish or meat and then charged by weight as it is cooked. We knew this from previous visits and believe its worth it but we could see others a little perplexed, so maybe needs a bit more flexibility. But guess it works for the restaurant as its been here a long time. We would recommend.
