Description: Welcome to the website of Restaurant A Ruina, located in Albufeira, in the charismatic Praia dos Pescadores. To meet us is like tasting the best in the Typical Algarvian Gastronomy. • Using the wall structure from the Tower wich defended Sant'Ana's Door, the restaurant A Ruina is open since 1971 - with Joao and Salome Lazaro: the art of good hospitality, always - associated with the development of Albufeira. With four interior rooms, being one of them an ancient well room, in the Summer you can enjoy the terrace and the esplanada at the beach.

We stayed at Albufeira and A Ruina has been recommended by our concierge as a good restaurant with fresh fish and local cuisine.

We had a great dinner- there is a big choice of fresh fish, as well as squid, mussels, shrimps. Good choice of salads.
And although there is also meat etc in the menu- I recommend to definitely choose the fish.

The staff -waiters, cooks and managers - all very friendly, welcoming, giving good advice on the choice of the dish.

Good wine list with good prices! Also have a good desert menu. Highly recommend to try -Delice Algarve!! It’s amazing! And very local so even if you’re full (and you will be after all the food as the portions are big)- still take it, you can have take away.

Place: there is a terrace and hall indoors upstairs.

The terrace is right in the beach, so you can actually walk on the beach and enjoy the romantic scenery.

We would definitely return there next time.

Obrigada!!

We had a snapper between 4 which was €130, but, you would pay that for a chateaubriand in London, and the quality was just phenomenal. Great ingredients cooked simply.. can't go wrong.. wine mark up is about 400% which is pretty steep, but given how cheap Portuguese wines are, it's still cheaper than English prices. Best thing for us was being able to let the kids run around on the sand in front of the restaurant. Sure, the view from the top is incredible, but I wouldn't take young kids up there, personally...
