“lovely family holiday!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2012

just got back from a week here and we had a lovely time, we have 3 kids 15, 5, & 4 there was not a great deal for the kids being honest as the entertainment doesnt start unti 1st may. but that was reflected in the price, we paid £1,250 for everything transfers, insurance, all inclusive the lot. it was a little cloudy on the first couple of days so we were in the indoor pool a lot. you need to wear a swimming cap in there though but you can get them at reception for 3 euros. we asked for a ground floor room and got the perfect room right next door to the breakfast room/ indoor pool and out the back was the kids play area, and outdoor pool. the breaskfast and dinner room was nice more or less the same thing everyday but plenty of choice so you did not have to eat the same thing, tea time was in the restaurant and that was nice similar things as in usually some sort of fish, meat, veg, pastas, and a lovely cake selection, ice cream, fresh fruit, cheeses and pate.there is also a pool side snack bar serveing hot dogs, chips, burgers, nuggets sandwiches, ice creams etc and the drinks were good i only had soft drinks but they were branded not the usual cheap stuff served in all inclusives my partner said the beer was good but a little strong drinks not included in all inc were half price. the hotel staff were friendly and spoke good english, as i said earlier kids entertainment was non exisistant really but they had some good singers on at 9 each night. a little shop in hotel and supermarket 5 mins away. easy to walk to the strip or into the old town. perfect location and the rooms were spotless, could do with updating a little but very clean hotel. we had a lovely time and will definately be going back.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view

After reading some of the past reviews of this hotel,I was a bit cautious about booking it.However I was pleasantly surprised. While yes the corridors are dark & in need of a lift, the rooms themselves are very spacious & spotlessly clean. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment, which was cleaned every day.The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils etc which were 'spick n span' when we arrived.Fair play to the housekeeping service!
We were on the first floor,so had a bigger balcony-ideal for kids,as its so low down. The safety bars on the balcony are the only thing I would have issue with.Kids can climb on them without difficulty as they are going horizontally & an eye must be kept on them at all times to avoid an accident!A few of the corner tiles on the balcony floor were in need of repair, but the space for kids counteracted this,as well as the nice view we had of the pool & the lawns. The room was lovely & quiet,as we were on a different floor to the bar-that is on floor 3 I think.
The outdoor pool looks lovely but was freezing in April,so we used the indoor. Not very warm, but good to have it as an option. The playground is small(3 swings & a climbing frame) but younger kids enjoyed it.Kids club was on 5 days a week.Mini golf, bowling, puzzles & art activities were offered.
The double decker bus which offers a 90 min tour of Albufeira stops right outside the hotel which is handy. The small tourist train which travels around the town goes from The Brisa Sol Hotel few minutes away.
There is an information desk in the hotel lobby if any trips are to be booked or one has any queries.
We didnt eat in the hotel, but there are plenty of restaurants in the old town(10 mins away) & on The Strip( 10 mins away).Big Shanghai Chinese Restaurant is just beside the hotel & is v tasty & reasonable.
Overall for the price we paid,I would recommend this hotel, especially for families.Anyone wishing to be nearer the beach, should book a hotel in the old town & avoid the walking.A free bus is offered to the ols town a few times a day from the hotel(mon to fri). There is also a free public bus which stops at the hotel a few times a day going to the Albufeira Shopping Mall.(Mon to Fri only)

We have just returned from a weeks stay and had a great time!! This hotel looks fab as you park up in the coach compared to others we saw on the "drop offs", although this is to be expected for a four star hotel. The hotel areas and pool are lovely although the rooms could do with a bit of tlc as they are out dated now and the outside of the hotel could do with a lick of paint, however we didnt complain as we got a bargain and had everything we needed. We didnt make use of the restaurant as we were self catering and with so much choice of places to eat why bother.
The hotel is in an ideal location with the old town a nice 10 minute walk with its beach and lots of bars and restaurants to chose from which were just starting to get busy towards the end of our stay. For a more lively night out we tried "the strip" which is about a 10 min walk from the hotel in the opposite direction. This area is alot more lively especially at the weekend with stag and hen parties ... personally i would be keeping clear of that area late at night if i had the kids with me....however i didnt so we joined in and had a great time!
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and will definantly be back but may opt for a hotel in the centre of the old end as we prefered that area.
ps....beach in old town are lovely especially if you get a sun trap among the rocks :)

Room Tip: If you happen to get a studio apartment most of them are overlooking hotel car park ask for a higher...

6 of us friends went there in may 2012.It was in a fabulous location. We Paid £100 for a two bedroom Duplex apartment (south View). Although it was for 6 person it had a sofa bed to make up the sixth bed.The Sea view was not there as it was not close enough. It was in two floors and it actaulIy had 3 bedroom. the third bedroom was very tiny, like a room in a loft. it was right between the old town and the new town.. everything was local. It was shame that when we went they were working on the outside swimming pool. Very Friendly staff. . As it was a lads holiday, it was not a problem The down side was that it was the wrong time of the season and not many people were there there. But it did not spoil our holiday. The beach is about two minutes cab ride or 10 minutes walk. The old town or the new town is not more than 10 minutes walk. supermarkets and food restaurant right next to the hotel.

We are a young couple in our twenties and have just returned from a week holiday at this hotel. We paid around £120 for the week which was an absolute steal. The hotel on first arriving was most impressive and the staff were very nice and always helpful. The room was a good size and had everything we needed. Alright the decor was a bit dated but who cares, you don't go on holiday so sit and stare at the four walls! The pool area was great and there are plenty of things to do including crazy golf and tennis. Beach towels and mats can be hired for 2 euros each. There is a shop on site which is a bit pricey, best to go out the hotel. The tour bus stops right outside the hotel and a 2day ticket is 13 euros, good idea to help you get you bearings on first arrival. There is also a motorised train you can grab just up from the hotel (go out and turn left towards mcdonalds) 3.50 euro for an all day ticket and it stops at old and new town, near beaches and strip, it runs until around 10.30pm. Overall we thought the hotel was fab, the only thing we thought was a bit poor was the evening 'entertainment', a few random Portuguese singers attempting pretty old British songs and ruining most of them. Saying that older people were up swinging their pants so maybe it's ok for some! Great week and would definitely stay again :) Nikki and Tommie, Glasgow

We are just back after a 2 week all inclusive holiday and although the weather wasn't great we had a great time!!! The hotel staff are friendly, pleasant, helpful and courteous! The hotel is very clean and we all enjoyed the food including my 'picky' 8 year old! The beds could be more comfortable and decor needs updating! The night time entertainment was enjoyable. The shops close by are good quality and the shopping centre a few minutes walk from the left of the hotel has a really good quality and reasonably priced supermarket! We recommend the chinese a minutes walk to the right of the hotel- fabulous food and very helpful, friendly staff! The open topped bus tour from the front of the hotel is good to experience at the start of your holiday to decide where you want to visit! There is a laundry room on the ground floor which is useful to use so no returning home with loads of dirty laundry! We would definitely return to this hotel in the future!!!!

Hotel Staff are really helpful at this hotel and go out there way to accomidate your needs and give you information if you want to explore albufeira or great places to go.
Hotel is in a good place as its very close to the old town which is good for couples lots of seaview restaurants and bars and then close to the new town (the strip) which has a good nightlife and lots of shops for the day.
Hotel food is not the best as all seems to be buffet style for the all inclusive but its managable but including the drinks and the snack bar next to the pool is good so would go all inclusive again.
Dont get why people complained about the staff as they was very friendly and suspect they are only rude (if they are) if you are rude with themselves as they are more than helpful.

Overall had a great hoilday and would return to the hotel again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel only view the car parks ( not that bad) but the rear ones view the p...
