Stayed here for one week in April. Hotel was nice and clean. Pool area good. Stayed self catering so did not try food for half board guests. Great location 5mins walk to the strip for all the bars. Eating out very good in old town which is 5 euros in cab or bus journey. Restaurants here are good quality offering lots of different cuisines. Only bad thing is the people trying to get you into the restaurants on every corner. Would go back good value for money. Hotel very near to beach also

Myself and my partner are just back from 10 days staying at this hotel and this was terrible to say the least. We were both looking forward to the holiday but were left very unhappy with this hotel, the cleanliness was really bad the bedding was not changed for the whole 10 days we were there even after asking the hotel receptionist and her telling us it would be changed every 2 days. The breakfast that we had paid for within the package we booked i would need to be paid to eat as it consisted of cold scrambled egg and hard cooked bacon. This hotel is definately not a 4 star and nowhere near it i would say it would be a good 2 star.
definately do not go to this hotel if you are looking for a good holiday.

Room Tip: Do not go to this hotel!!!

You know this hotel is bad when a local portuguese woman says don't stay there in the street to you. We booked bed and breakfast and i wouldn't feed the breakfast to my dog. The breakfast was always freezing cold, basically they had your money so they were not interested, but if you were self catering and paying for it you got the works. In the room the cleanliness was a joke, we found crisps on the floor and it looked liked it had not been swept for a while. The switch for the air conditioning was burst revealing loose wires so we couldn't use that unless we wanted electrocuted, there was a light hanging from the wall with exposed wires again that will eventually fall out and hit someone, it is just an accident waiting to happen. The bed sheets were not changed once in the ten days we were there, I cut myself shaving the first night and it put a spot of blood on the bed, and it was still there when I left. On the balcony the plastic sheeting that was attatched to the metal railing was burst, and kept banging all day and all night long. I eventually had to jam the table on the balcony against it to stop the noise. Then there's the staff. The maids were shouting and bawling to each other across the landings, four to be exact, at seven o'clock in the morning. Then they thought nothing of slamming doors that left us thinking there was an earthquake at this time. Then the receptionists just thought that they would talk to you like an idiot because you were a tourist. The great entertainment that folk talked of on trip advisor was an absolute joke as well. One night there was meant to be a parrot show, but the guy that does it just didn't bother turning up because there was not enough people for his amazing show!! There is on good thing in a all this, your ten minutes from the strip.

Room Tip: Book a different hotel!!

We had booked half board because it had worked out really well in a previous hotel, however I would not recommend anyone to go half board in this hotel. The breakfast was mediocre at best. Dinner was terrible. we had young children and couldn't ask them to eat any if it. We ended up eating out for 4 of the 7 nights we were there and found the selection and quality of food to be 100% better elsewhere.
The staff were very accommodating and nice. Location is okay but it's a tough walk up from the beach, all uphill.

We have just returned from a holiday over Easter, the hotel itself is very central to shops and restaurants with a very good selection and good quality food, try Eduardos for a lovely meal, we stayed half board which looking back was a mistake as the food was just about ok, breakfast was boring and the buffet evening meal could have been a lot better, very little vegetables at all, there is a carvery on Wednesday night and Sunday afternoon which was a much better meal.
Could not fault the staff either in the restaurant or the hotel reception who where always very helpful.
Rooms in the hotel are above average and cleaned daily.

We stayed here for a week in March this year, very pleasantly surprised, the hotel is Spotless the staff are very friendly and helpful with local knowledge re; markets and shops etc, Alan the barman was a gift with perfect english, we thought he was English when we met him first, the food in the Bar is very good and reasonably priced, you can get two meals for the price of one on the special menu deal, the hotel is ideally located as the beach is about 500mtrs away, and the Strip is about a 10 minute walk, the pool is great, with a little poolside bar, all the comforts you would expect, the reason I said surprised was I read some bad reviews about this Hotel,, I found it to be very good and great value for money, we will be back in Sept, regards Gerry & Mary

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a front facing balcony.

We stayed at the beginning of April (Easy Jet holiday for about 700 quid for 2 adults and 1 child) and the weather was cooler than average at the beginning of the holiday so the unheated pools (medium size one with a small kids pool) were very chilly! The hotel was pretty average, a bit dated and the playground consisted of an old slide and a swing, but we nevertheless enjoyed our stay. The reception staff were helpful (we had a late check out) if a bit surly at times. The room layout felt slightly odd (bathroom/hall/wardrobes leading into the bedroom then into a dining room and small balcony) but fine (we had two pushed together singles pretending to be a double and moved a camp-bed into our room for our son).

I would recommend a garden view on floors 3 or 4. We had a pool side view on floor 2 and you could see the sea if you craned your neck.

We had a nice veggie curry (2 for 10 Euro 3-6pm) and a breakfast at the hotel 1 morning (although they tried to get us to pay some more money for it later that day for some reason) but there are plenty of good eateries nearby and we used the self catering facilities which were quite adequate (two electric hobs, a microwave and a fridge).

There is a good supermarket left out the hotel and left at the roundabout (Ecomarche). Over the road is Yellow Bird family restaurant which did an excellent 8 Euro Tourist menu (we also had a Cataplana at the Netto restaurant near the hotel which was tasty but a more pricey dish and the cake cafe/restaurant near the roundabout is also good).

You can walk to Albufeira in about 25 minutes or catch a bus or the "happy train" for a few Euros. Oura beach is nice and is close by, about a 10 minute walk. I also quite liked Praia de Santa Eulalia which is about 20 minutes walk past the roundabout and downhill then right. The "strip" is near by but wasn't a problem in terms of being noisy.

We took the bus from the tourist office (past the supermarket) to Faro although this was quite pricey in all as we had to pay full fare for our 6-year old son (EUR 4.60 each way each) and took over an hour.

Overall the location is good in terms of amenities but the old town is more attractive than Santa Eulalia/Oura.

Room Tip: I would recommend a garden view on floors 3 or 4. We had a pool side view on floor 2 and you could s...
