Stayed here on our first night in the Azores. Great central location, very friendly staff, comfortable rooms and decent breakfast. The hotel should be at least 3* and possibly 4*.
On our first night our daughter became very ill with coeliac disease after ingesting gluten at a local restaurant. The staff could not have been more attentive and let her stay in her bed until 1.15pm the following day, well after the check out time of noon. The waiter even put together some gluten free food to take away with her because she was too ill to make breakfast.
The breakfast that the rest of us had was generally good. It was buffet style with a good choice. The only thing that really annoyed us was the fact that a lot of the food was left uncovered. There were flies crawling all over the uncovered food. Why oh why do so many establishments leave their food uncovered especially in hot countries were flies are so prevalent? This is the only reason why the rating is not 5*. A big plus was the ability to make your own fresh orange juice by using the orange juicing machine.
We will hopefully make a return visit.More
