Very lucky to be on holiday during the global pandemic, however,mixed feelings about this hotel. Ponta Delgada & Sao Miguel is an amazing place.
Check-in; Was quick, easy & the desk staff were great.
Room; Huge bed, my wife & I were in different time zones! WiFi a bit hit & miss, no USB ports, plug sockets in awkward places, better siting of sockets recommended, position of shower screen over bath makes it difficult to get in and out, a large person would really struggle, dividing wall is paper thin & you can hear guests talking & tv, sliding door to balcony not soundproof.
Room was clean & maid did a good job.
Breakfast; Very poor,due to Pandemic rather than buffet the breakfast was served, every day the order was wrong, often barely warm, coffee was tepid & tasted like it had been stewed for hours, had to always ask for breakfast to be hot & for fresh coffee.
Pool; The swimming pool was ok but the changing area was sub standard. The individual shower cubicles were very poorly lit, the shower hose was positioned very high, ok if you are tall but not so reachable (to adjust) if you are small or a child.
Overall the staff were nice & very helpful & the location is ok (close to bus stop, Marina & a couple of great restaurants) but the hotel needs investment to claim 4 stars.More
