It is very far from downtown Lisbon. In the webpage they have got a price and when you book it, the price is higher. The bathroom are for lilliputians. I've never seen such a small bathrooms.
The walls of my room were made of cardboard and you could hear everything from other rooms. what a breakfast? The staff put everything in a very small kitchen where everybody had to prepare his or her breakfast and there almost wasn't enough room to eat it. It was a very disgusting experience.

I stayed in this hostel with 4 friends and we all loved it. The hostel wasn't very big, but it had a great atmosphere. The common room had computers with internet, and a little terrace that comes with a nice view over surrounding lisbon. The staff was always friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the prices very fair. They also had a little outside-chillout space, where we could sit and drink in the evening. One of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. Thumbs up!

We stayed at The Chill Out Hostel and were quickly blown away by the warm hearted welcome we received. After being on the road for the past 2yrs it was everything I was looking for in a hostel, its a shame there is not so many hostels like it (they always seem to miss something). The Chill Out seem to have it just right! From the welcome and the good info given to you on arrival, to the happy and friendy atmosphere that was created.
We used the fully equipped kitchen to make our meals and had a comfortable bed to sleep in. I would definately go back and would recommend it to any REAL traveler.

If you want a Disco, this is the place. Played loud music to after 1 oclock.
The beds was awful, the madras was so thin that you felt every ribbon through it.

What makes a hostel tick? To me the most important qualities of a hostel are always the crew and the people it attracts. I can be quite forgiving on other traits if I am made to feel welcome and see heart and enthousiasm in the organisation.
The Lisbon Chillout Hostel is precisely what it is called, chillout. It is on walking distance from the city centre, it has a pleasant living room with free WiFi and two computers, a smoking area, a clean and fully equipped kitchen, free breakfast and a garden with a barbecue, hammock and refrigerator. The room and bed were very comfortable. All is well maintained and kept clean. True, there is some room for improvement on the sanitary facilities, but all is clean and present. It is just that the showers are a tad smaller than you might be used to or expect. They do the job, though, and personally I can´t loose sleep over a space that I don´t occupy for more than five minutes a day.
The hostel is about to open a second floor with extra beds, facilities and common rooms. I am sure this will only improve the overall quality of the hostel, but what matters most is already there: a friendly staff that can be bothered for anything at any time and interacts actively with the guests to make their stay as comfortable and ´homely´ as possible. Almost every day they organize something, from a theme diner, a trip to the biggest outlet store in Europe, a cultural tour of the city or a late night investigation of the nightlife.
I stayed three nights in total and met some great fellow travelers. To the staff I would like to say, keep it up and good luck with all. I am sure to come back to Lisboa and your wonderful hostel!
