This museum is one of the cheapest ones to visit (of course it is free on Sundays), and it has content for at least 3 hours of visit, and the art in it is mostly portraits and other religious paintings, with also some sculptures and china.
The cafe inside the museum is a bit expensive, but at least the outside area is great to have lunch in, and the view is not the best, but at least you can see the river.

This small museum houses many important Portuguese furniture, and European art like Hieronimous Bosch, 9 beautiful paintings by Zurbaran, Raphael, Piero de la Franchesca and others. There is an interesting exhibition of portraits and forbidden art. It is a worthwhile visit for art lovers. Yona Y.

Don't skip this lovely museum, especially if you're an art lover. Plenty of altar pieces including Heironymous Bosch, Holbein, et.al. & 9 0f the 12 Apostles by Spanish master Zuraban! Use your Lisboa card for free entry. Bus stops right nearby and there's a little park next to it for your picnic lunch. Clean bathrooms.

Although we found this museum difficult to find on foot, it really was well worth the visit. We visited mid week and most of the rooms were empty. It was a joy to be able to stand in front of a Bosch painting and spend as much time as we wanted looking at every detail with no one else around. The size of the collection is amazing and you could easily spend a full day browsing through the gallery. The gallery has a lovely cafe and tables to eat in the garden.

I loved mostly the namban Japanese screens found in the oriental gallery, one of several galleries of art. The building itself and its quiet garden are special. A cafe in front has a broad panorama of the bay and is the ideal rest stop after touring.
