A magnificent art museum in Lisbon
Bosh, Dürer, Cranach, Zurbaran, Ribera, Piero de la Francesca, are some of the masters you are going to find here

This is one of the finest museums in Lisboa with an extensive collection of art work from
a period of several centuries. especially from the Age of Exploration. This place is also
part palace.

We were dropped off here by mistake. And how glad we were. An absolutely beautiful display of period and historic Portuguese furniture displayed to perfection. And a marvellous collection of silverware and other decorative arts. Don’t miss it. Highly recommended

If you like religious paintings, this is the place!
Many painting of the crucifixion, saints, Virgin Mary, and all kinds of religious stories and symbols. There are statues, artifacts, wall pieces too. There are also pieces showing Lisbon through the centuries. This is a very interesting museum.
We got in for free because our hotel had a special deal and coupon, so check with your hotel desk about this offer. We spent about two hours here and saw most of it - but not everything. There is a famous Bosch painting here on a folding frame. A few of the large paintings are on these 3-tiered folding frames. I guess it made the paintings easy to transport and store since they folded up.
We took the bus here from downtown, which dropped us right in front of the museum - check for the bus number (I don't remember).
If you are into museums, this place is worth a visit.

Thank Tom Z
