We were a group of 12 friends who traveled to Lisboa in February. We stayed at the Real Parque for five nights. The hotel is located in the Salhanda area of LIsboa. The staff at the hotel were wonderful. A special thank you to Pedro for all of his patience with the many questions we asked of him during our stay. Our hotel room was very nice and quite large by european standards. It was very clean and there was minimal noise from the street below. The bed was somewhat hard for me but I slept relatively well. The breakfast every morning was very nice with a large assortment of fresh fruit, breads, pastries, eggs, meats, cheeses, yougurts, coffee, tea, and fresh juices. The waitstaff were very nice as well. This hotel was near the Sao Sebastio(spelling) metro stop which took you all over the city in five to ten minutes. It was also right near the El Corte Ingles store which is a major spanish department store. It was very nice and had a great supermarket where you could purchase all types of food items and water etc. We went there at least once a day. We did not walk to the city center as the metro was so convenient. The metro is very easy to navigate. We all purchased the Lisboa card at the airport for 32 euro which in my opinion was a good value. This allowed you to use all forms of transportation for a 72 hour time period (metro, trams, and train). Make sure if you purchase the Lisboa card to take the booklet they give you with you when you travel to the historic and cultural sights as not all of them were free with the card. The booklet has special coupons that you need to use as well which we found out the day we went to Sintra and wanted to go into the Pena Palace.

Lisboa is a nice city and the people were very friendly as well as helpful. We were concerned about all the information regarding pickpockets but we did not experience this on the trip. All of the shopkeepers were attentive to make sure that you new to watch your belongings. The food was traditional Portuguese. Everything we had was tasty. It was not culinary food. Meat and seafood are very big in this country. We had this almost everyday. The lamb was extrodinary at the Tulhuse restaurant in Sintra. I highly recommend this restaurant. In all the restaurants we went to the people were friendly and helpful. The amount of food you receive in a single portion can be shared by two. The prices were very reasonable as well.

We did a private day tour to Obidos, Nazare, and a winery which was exceptional. I highly recommend you go to Obidos which is the medieval walled city. Nazare was a beautiful seaside town. Sintra was very special. Visit the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace. The train to Sintra was very easy to get and a short ride from Lisboa.

Make sure you try the pastries. Especially the almond pastries as well as the famous Belem custard tarts with cinnamon and sugar. I cannot say enough about the hotel as well as the people of Portugal. It is a beautiful country and I would go back again.

This was a great hotel and the staff were incredibly accomodating. I made a very big mistake with our flight booking (which i deservedly suffered for) and the hotel did not charge me the extra night despite me giving them no notice really. Great breakfast too. Slightly out of the town centre but it's only 10 minute walk and it's worth it for the value. I got a great price through either Expedia or the hotel site itself can't remember. If you're on a bit of a budget, i couldn't recommend this enough.

Great hotel in a good location (close to the Metro), friendly staff, and a great breakfast! We thought the price was a bit expensive, but we had a great time in Lisbon thanks to the quality of this hotel.

Was extremely happy to back at the Hotel Real Parque, and as usual was not dissappointed. Would come back yeat again. Good, polite and clean service. Handy for Metro, shopping and museums. Lots of local places to eat. Friendly booking system (based in Madeira).

Need to book ahead as often busy due to the increased conferences in Lisbon.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Real Parque Hotel. The hotel was clean and in a good area, part of the financial district. The entrance lobby was very chic and the rooms were quite large by european hotel standards, we stayed on the 2nd floor our room over looking the street with no noticeable noise. I did find the bed to be firm and not the most comfortable but that is possibly personnal preferences. The breakfast served in a bright modern comfortable dining room we found to be more than adequate. Eggs, bacon, sausages (which I only had once as they were spicy and the taste stayed with me all day), cereal and fresh fruit etc.
The hotel staff where helpful and friendly.
The walk to the centre of Lisbon was about 35 minutes although a metro station is nearby for the less energetic. A word of warning Lisbon is very hilly and the pavements slope on the horizontal and vertical. They are constructed from small pieces of a marble like substance, with some occasional holes, I would imagine they could be very slippery after a rain shower. So flat shoes are recommended. Please note the weather forecast for Lisbon is not to be trusted. The forecast for our 5 days was mainly rain & overcast. What we actually got was clear skies and day temperatures in the 30's while evenings 20's.
One disappointment was that there were no drink making facilities in the room.
Overall we enjoyed our stay there & found the hotel to be a good base to explore Lisbon and the surrounding area and would recommend it.
