4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2011

We got a suite for just € 80.00/night. The rooms need some refurnishing and redecorating.
The facilities and staff are fully OK though. The breakfast is really outstanding.
It is a 15 minute walk to downtown Lisbon from here. The view from the hotel (backside) is to be denied.

the hotel is very convenient located, very close to the Praça do Marquês de Pombal. this plaza is starting point for numerous tourist buses.
also, the hotel is only 20 min away from the airport.
the room was very big but could definitely need some refurbishment, the carpet has a lot of stains and the hotel is not offering slippers...
the breakfast is very basic, I would recommend to eat someplace else. a few minutes away from the hotel you can find a supermarket and a lot of place where we can eat.
the staff is very friendly and helpful.
overall I would recommend this hotel and I will stay here again.

This hotel is nice . Close to Marques de Pombal and Av. de Libertad - centrally situated. The room was big, but not clean. Bathroom and toilet were clean. Helpful staff. Very loudness AC. It likes a plane. Bad! Atmosphere-free bar. Good breakfast. In totally could better

Hotel looks beautiful from the outside and thought this would be a lovely place for a 1 night stay. We didn't book so we turned up on the off chance. They had a room available. Well the room was old and outdated, old fashioned. Looks like it's not been modernised since the 60s but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. One of the reasons we stayed at this hotel as it advertised WiFi and I needed to able to do some work. We paid €20 for two vouchers. When we got to the room there was no signal at all. Only in the corridor. I went back to reception and asked for our money back, they refused. They got very very rude and I said that I wanted my money back as I had paid for something that doesn't work. They said it was impossible to give us out money back. I demanded another room and they said the hotel was fully booked. Then suddenly a customer came in and the other receptionist said they had rooms available.

They only gave us a refund in the end because I made a big scene every time someone came into reception.

We decided to go up and use the pool on the roof, another reason why we booked this hotel. When we got up there the pool was closed and the colour of the water was pond green, looked disgusting. Why didn't they tell us when we booked that the pool was closed. Another failure.

We went out for the day in Lisbon and had some dinner, we decided to go back to the roof top bar of the hotel and have some drinks. We got up there and said to the barman, can we get a bottle of wine and he said that he didn't serve wine, even though there was a group of people with wine. We asked for Champagne as we could see a bottle behind the bar. He refused and said they only served Champagne to large groups. We completely gobsmacked. I have never ever met a bar that wouldn't serve wine or Champagne. We later found out that the barman wanted to close the bar early and if we bought wine, it might mean we'd be there for an hour or two.

We went across the road to the hotel opposite and had a wonderful wonderful few drinks on their roof top bar.

I have stayed at hotels all over the world, and I can honestly say this is the worst hotel I have ever ever stayed at. I was so angry with the service in this hotel, I wanted to complain to the local tourist board.

Please please seriosuly think very carefully before staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't actually stay here

The aparthotel is a 20 minutes taxi ride from the airport with a fare of approximately € 14 (in this case the taxi voucher sold at the airport, which costs € 23, is not convenient). You can also reach it by Aerobus departing from the airport or bus 22, in both cases getting off at Marques de Pombal and then a 10 minutes walk uphill. A large airy hall welcomes you but our apartment seemed not to deserve the 4 stars the aparthotel displays at the entrance. The apartment had a large room (40 m2) which could be divided in two by a sliding partition wall, two beds, a not comfortable sofa bed and bathroom. The apartment showed its age. Clean but with basic furniture, old fitted carpet and an old TV. The very small kitchenette was hidden by another sliding door on a side of the room. Only two electric plates and sink, no oven, no microwave oven, no water boiler, nothing else. The fridge was so small that could contain not more than few cans of soft drinks. The kitchen kit had to be asked (free of charge) at the reception as they prefer not to leave it in the apartment for hygienic reasons. Even this kit was very basic. You don't expect such a basic kitchen in a 4 stars aparthotel. Daily room cleaning was provided. Internet is available but expensive. Mini markets are close and you can walk to the centre in 20 minutes (but returning uphill could be tiring).
To conclude just 3 stars not the promised 4. It is a right choice if you don't care for the basic kitchen.

The ladies at the reception were extremely nice and provided us with very usefull information on trips etc .The room was excellent (908) and very spacious and well organised. Nice to arrange your own breakfast since the supermarket was only 300 yds away. The only negative part were the beds as they were very hard and we brought this up when we left the hotel again, but for the rest ....very good and nicely situated near the underground and even a walk into the old area would take approx 25 minutes.
Furthermore found a very nice/good restaurant on which the average price for 2 persons was between euro 40/50 incl. wine/spirits.

If your looking for somewhere spacious, clean, pretty central with friendly staff, this is the place for you !! The studios are fairly big, nice double bed, sofas, desk, kitchen table and chairs and a kitchenette too !! i did no cooking because lisbon has some great resturantes so it would'nt make sense, but some people do prefer to do so, and in that sense i would say the kitchenette is perfectly adequate. I did go to the local super market literally 3 minutes away, and filled the fridge with water and other drinks, it saves a bomb on mini bar costs. Can't review the Hotel food as i did'nt eat there, i had breakfast everday in a lovely patisserie, can't remember the name ...sorry :( its on a corner, 5 minutes to the left of the hotel... Ok, the Hotel could do with a little refurb, specially the carpets but lets not be too picky because the prices are super, !! My room was on the front so it was a little noisy as there is a fair amount of traffic, but it was no big deal.....The TV has various channels including BBC, and the heating works perfectly well also !!! There is two metro stations nearby, Picoas to the right and Marques to the left, the number 22 bus also runs outside and comes from the airport so thats handy if your on a budget !! In a nutshell.....Worth the stay, would recomend it, and will stay again !!!
