Charming, older guesthouse with lots of character. Very pleasant, professional staff. Far enough away from the crowds and noise yet close enough to be a pleasant stroll. Look forward to staying here again.

The Casa de Sao Mamede Hotel was well located. We could easily walk to the the shops, restaurants and cafes in Príncipe Real, Bairro Alto and Chiado, and to the metro to get to the airport. I liked the quirky charm of the building and was grateful for the air conditioning. Unfortunately the beds were uncomfortable and we did not sleep well.

Charming hotel in the center of Lisbon. Historical house and well maintained by the owners.
Our room, despite being facing the street, was quiet. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and good breakfast. Away from the crowds of tourists, but close enough to get to Lisbon on foot, for those who like to walk a lot. For those who are not adept at walking, the hotel is close to public transport. We took tram only to go to Belem.
There is no lift, so if you have problems, check the availability of a room on the ground floor.

Beautiful tradition building, great central location all though on a busy road, but no traffic noise. very pleasant and helpful staff, excellent breakfast selection in a lovely dinning room. Receptionist recommended a good Portuguese restaurant 5mins walk away, just what we needed after a full day in Lisbon.

Room tip: If you have any form of walking/ balance issues, you need to ask for a first floor room, as there is know lift.
