Tucked behind a small door this is a gem of a place, total peace and tranquility a stones throw from all the attractions of the city. The staff were beyond excellent and we loved everything about the place.
We stayed in to pool roon with a view of the garden and pool.
My only slight issue was having to step into tha bath for the shower, the bath side was quite high and I am quite short so it was a bit tricky!
We preferred to stay in a hotel that had history and was less generic. Casa Balthazar was perfect! The setting was unique: on a quiet cobblestones back street. This is a converted home owned by the family who founded a century old Lisboa bakery. The staff was terrific- welcoming and accommodating. The Panoramic Terrace room is the best. The views overlooking the orange barrel tiled roofs and the fort on the hill are breathtaking. Breakfast was delivered daily and devoured on the terrace.
The pool area was an added bonus.
Walking anywhere was easy from this hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The location is perfect. The service, very tasteful decor, large rooms, beautiful and peaceful courtyard are amazing and very memorable. It’s hard to find a better place to stay in Lisbon. It’s surrounded by numerous restaurants and few steps away from a train station. The breakfast is delicious.
We absolutely LOVED our stay in Casa Balthazar - the only downside was we only had one night there. The hotel is beautiful, amazing rooms, exceptionally comfy beds, great location, friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfast.... we really could not fault this hotel. We have already been telling friends and family to visit Lisbon just so they can experience Casa Balthazar.
This boutique hotel is situated at the heart of Lisbon with restaurants cafes and bars. It is a 20m walking time from Alfama. We had a large and quiet suite. The only drawback is the in room breakfast
The property is beautiful, and so peaceful. The rooms are very comfortable and beautiful as well. The service was excellent, and the entire staff always greeted us with a smile and hello. We could not have asked for a better place to stay while in Lisbon, and we hope to return soon. And when we do, we hope to be able to stay with you again. Thank you so much for making our vacation so wonderful! Almost forgot, breakfast was great too!
