This is a lovely hotel plus a great location. We loved it. They offer a welcoming living area with Nespresso, and pastries as well as beer wine and other beverages. The pool was lovely but not as warm as we’d preferred. The rooms are large with modern touches. Ours had a view, a kitchen area and a large bathroom. Very nice personnel and service. We would definitely go back.

My family stayed at Casa Balthazar for six nights in December 2019, including Christmas. We were so pleased with the stylish, comfortable accommodations and friendly, helpful staff. We had two rooms - the Pool Room and the Duque Suite. Both were wonderful. The staff graciously made reservations for our Christmas Eve and Christmas meals and had helpful tips. The Casa is located just off Largo do Carmo near the historic Convent do Carmo and within walking distance of many neighborhoods and sights. I recommend Casa Balthazar without hesitation.
