This is definitely part of Portuguese heritage and not to be missed when visiting Lisbon. We studied up a little on Lisbon music and culture before traveling here. This small museum confirmed their love of this music.
There is a small shop to buy their CDs. We brought some home.

Its good but if i would come to portugal again i would not go there. If you go you will use really little time. The best part was the Tomas edison area down stairs. It was a bit boring but the sovineirs were good.

It was interesting to find out more about Fado, and with the aid of the audio tour handsets I was able to listen to different famous singers giving their interpretations of Fado.

This is only a small place but was probably my favourite visit of our week in Lisbon. It wasn’t as crowded as many of the other attractions and was all the better for it. Being new to Fado it was lovely to watch the film of Fado stars being interviewed about what Fado means to them. The audio handset provided with the admission ticket was really helpful as it provided commentary in many parts of the museum as well as recordings of some of the most well known performers. A real treat.

Like to know smth about this music, but this place didn,t help a lot. I,ve seen a movie "fado", here is a lot of parts of this movie. Also couple of instrument, postcards etc. I kniw fado is about emotion, but there were little things that helps undersund this music
