On a return trip to Lisbon we decided to revisit O Fernando. We wondered if we were in the right place, it was half the size it used to be, think they’d sold of a portion of the building to the “new” restaurant next door. Seating was a bit tight as the place was full. That said, the food was just as good as it had been on our previous visit and the staff were as attentive as ever. The traditional starters that we had were nice and the Codfish Portuguese style and the Pork chop dishes that we had were delicious and well cooked and seasoned. Overall a good visit but the downsizing was a disappointment as the seating area is now limited.

Really nice food offered in the menu, but being tourists, I think we got the bad end of everything. We eat here twice, both times we were left waiting for menus, for order to be taken etc. I ordered the mixed fish and what I got were a few pieces of fish cut very close to the tail end - very little to eat! Although we were standing waiting for a table, local people who came in after us were accommodated before us. Fine, we understand we are only there two weeks and the locals are there all year round, but we didn't like the manner in which it was done. Waiter was not very friendly. We walked with our feet.

Excellent food in this small casual restaurant. You would just walk past it- but don't if you want a typical, cheap Portuguese dinner. Highly recommend.

We get a whiff of grilled fish each time we pass this place on our way back to our apartment. It seems like a small place especially with all the construction going on but there are always locals eating. We tried it for lunch and had to squeeze into the tables. We ordered the fried and grilled fish, and the meat skewer. No need to purchase the add ons like cheese or bread. Although the food was simply prepared, it was fresh and filling.
