I wouldn't make this a destination, but if you have some spare time it provides a very pleasant walk through some very peaceful grounds.

The main palace was abandonned for many years but has been opened to the public. In a mauresque style, popular in the 19th century, it is an original building with plenty of charm. The most amazing thing is the park. Incredible gardens with many different ferns. A beauty

Spent about 2 hours strolling the grounds. Beautiful gardens and grounds. Well worth a few hours. New transportation to get there from Sintra central. Bus will do it.

Abandoned for decades, Parques Monte da Lua have been restoring and renovating this very different palace. Audio guide was not very useful, in my opinion but definitely do take a walk around the gardens. And don't miss the kitchen, very innovative for the time.

Some 4 km away from Sintra , you can visit the wonderful park of Monserrate, with exuberant gardens, a richest botanical garden, with many winding paths among the lakes
is very nice.
