A bit far from Lisbon, not sure if you can reach it easily. Staff is very very friendly.
Unfortunately there is very little English language around, so I couldn't understand many interesting things about Portugal aviation history, though it looks very interesting.
Their collection is very nice, and definitiely should be checked out!

This aviation museum has a large collection of well restored aircraft. There are both civilian and military aircraft . There is also a part of the museum that is about TAP's history. The museum is operated by Air Force military personnel who help if you need information . An excellent aviation museum that is well worth a visit.

Very nice museum, managed by the Portuguese air force, that looks at the history of Portuguese civilian and military aviation.

The main attraction is the collection of aircraft of different eras, mostly kept in indoor hangars. You can visit the flight deck or go inside some of the larger models. You also get to see items from the Portuguese airline TAP (such as the different uniforms worn over time) and airports.

The staff is helpful and friendly, and there's also a small cafe for mid-visit refreshments.

A small but nice museum, displays a good collection of aircraft that served with the Portuguese forces. offers the possibility to admire some types not available for viewing in North America.

I recently reviewed Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra and said it was the best 6 euros that you could spend. Well this is the best 3 euros you can spend. And, bearing in mind they are in the same area, if you have a car you could fill your day and do them both for under 10 euros! The only reason I knew about this was from looking on Tripadvisor, if I didn't I would still not even know it existed. We only came across one other tourist on our visit so literally had the place to ourselves. At first look I thought it was only one hanger with multiple different planes in it, which is fine as it was only 3 euros and there was a lot of different planes to see. They had one that had been completely refurbished including the interior to original spec but to get up the stairs to see inside the sign said you had to get a military escort from the entrance (this was the same for the cockpit on another plane) Neither of us had the nerve to actually go and ask which was a pity cause from what you could see on the ground it looked great. From there you could go through to a middle area which was all about TAP and the Portuguese air association this included and upstairs area too. Then from there into another hanger with more planes. And , just when you think its all finished there is a little room with automatic door at the back with old uniforms. My only negative is there wasn't many signs in English including the info on the planes and also the different areas, which could easily be missed as you may think its areas off limits to visitors. But, again, its only 3 euros so can't be too picky! It is obviously a working airbase and you can hear planes flying as you are going round which adds to the great experience. Despite there being no real reason to go again - I'm pretty sure I will (at least once!)
