Situated about a fifteen minute walk from the Central district, room and bathroom were super clean. Bed was very comfortable. Room was on quite a busy street but the windows have wooden shutters to block the noise. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay here.

We spent one week at Sol Da Nave in August 2016.It was a wonderful holiday with extreme comfort.

We were delighted with the service. Mr. John and his family are very kind, friendly and would do their best to help us. The room was really clean. we had access to a terrace with beautiful flowers.

The hotel is about 5 minutes from the city centre with a bus stop nearly in front of the hotel.
If you are looking for a cheap nice hotel then Residential Sol Da Nave would be best for you

Me and my fiancee stayed at the Sol da Nave in early October this year and had a great time. The hotel is less than a ten minute walk away from the Marques metro station, which itself is situated in a nice little inner city park, in which there is also an open air bar! The rest of the area immediately around the hotel and metro station is not especially interesting - a handful of shops, cafes and restaurants (and a church which is incongruously modern looking for Porto) - but it is nice enough.

The hotel is quite old fashioned, but by design rather than being tired and outdated. There was a large bath in the room with a good shower, a decent little fridge and a television with access to channels for many nationalities. We were at the back of the hotel and the view from the window was frankly not good, but that's a tiny complaint.

The room was cleaned, the bed tidied, and towels replaced every day, which was above and beyond what I would expect in a little city hotel, so thumbs up to the maid.

Quadruple thumbs up though to the fantastic gentleman who runs this place, he appears to be working for near enough 24 hours per day - he is at reception when you nip out for a coffee in the morning and he is serving behind the cute little bar behind reception last thing at night. His English isn't great (but, naturally, is better than my Portuguese) but he was genuinely helpful and approachable and really added something to the quality of our stay - one of the marks out of five is for him alone :)

Only slightly odd thing about the stay was that you had to leave your key at reception when you went out for the day, which struck me as a bit 1950's bed & breakfast in England...

I won't say too much about Porto itself other than that we had a great time in a very interesting city, but it's a city that I couldn't recommend to people with mobility problems - some of the hills are killer and the metro system, whilst great, doesn't get you absolutely everywhere.

Residencial Sol da Nave is a small, cheap family owned hotel in Porto. The owner is a very nice person that helps you in every situation although he's English is not perfect. Hotel is situated near bus stop that will take you to the city center every 10 minutes and about 10-15 minutes walk from metro station. Nearby you have a lot of pastries and small shops. If you are not fastidious and you are looking for a cheap place to stay in Porto this hotel is perfect to you.

This guesthouse is located in an old house on the narrow old fashioned streets of Porto.
The rooms are clean and helpful Mr. Joao, the manager , provides support , plenty of smiles plus great advice and interesting stories about Porto .
If you want to go to the city center bus 600 runs along the street taking you there in 5 minutes but you can also walk and enjoy the traditional atmosphere of the neighborhood .
The guesthouse does not provide breakfast but beside its entrance there is a tiny Coffee Shop, where you can chill out, interact with Mr. Luis, the owner, and with the friendly patrons while you have a coffee or traditional " Francesiña " ( a delicious Porto speciality, sort of sandwich with a sauce )

The stay at this hotel was very comfortable. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is far from the centre of Porto, but for the price what we paid its worth the service.
It is better if you have a car then would make sense to stay here...

Budget hotel far from city centre, no breakfast served but many bakeries around who serve excellent breakfast. Old outdated accomodation, but you don't pay the highest price after all. Would not recommend it for families. But ok if you do not set high standards.
