We spent 4 nights here and were very well looked after. The location is very good - an easy walk to city centre attractions and also close to the railway station if you are planning a train trip on the Douro Valley line (highly recommended).
The decor is based on a theatre and works well. At first we thought it was a bit dark but actually the quiet and low lighting levels are a pleasant contrast to the bright sunshine and bustle outside. The room was very comfortable with walk-in shower and en-suite. The room was very quiet for a city centre hotel. Complimentary bottled water and a Nespresso machine were thoughtful touches too.
Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, hot and cold savouries and tempting cakes. As we were on holiday we also took advantage of bucks fizz to accompany our start to the day!
Finally the staff were very friendly and helpful. A free glass of port on arrival was good too.
Would be happy to recommend and would stay again.More
