An unprepossessing building close to Trindade subway station, so an excellent position in all ways - from the airport, downtown, shopping, Douro riverside etc. Lovely friendly staff. The room was quiet, clean, well presented, with good amenities including a small balcony thus allowing fresh air from the opening door. Well equipped shower room (great walk in shower with two options - overhead or hand held). Nice breakfast room and breakfast and a great bar on the 17th floor? A good place to stay.

Renewed hotel in central location of Oporto with good buffet breakfast. Excellent views from top floor (17) bar and restaurant.
Lobby and more economic double rooms are cute but small (and no 4 stars level). Room window did not open, small tv, and there was no kettle or coffee in room. Several times during the day bad smell came up from sewars ,On the other hand, twin rooms are big and airy, big windows, tea facilities and much nicer.
Front desk staff correct, polite and helpful.

Second visit to Porto and we had no hesitation booking this hotel again. Large modern bedrooms and superb large bathroom. The 17th floor bar is a great place to start/end your evening with a superb range of cocktails for the ladies and excellent service from Gorgio and the staff. Located at the top of the hill you've superb views down to the river and the Port Houses lit up at night on the opposite bank is beautiful. About 15-20 min walk down to the riverfront. Special mention to Daniella at the hotel who was so helpful with our booking, and when we were struggling to get booked into a restaurant on Saturday night she came up with a great recommendation and made the booking for us. We will return!

I had booked a single room but got upgraded to a double, so was well pleased with that, and it had a small balcony to boot (and I mean small). Well located and within easy walking distance for most of the points of interest in Porto. Breakfast was as you might expect and housekeeping was excellent, although didn't occur until quite late. As is often the case, rooms aren't ready until a prescribed time, in this case 2pm, so a bit of a wait after a long day travelling is a bit irksome. Overall, this was a good hotel to stay in, the views from the 17th and 18th floors are amazing and I wouldn't hesitate staying here again should I visit Porto in the future.

Double room that we received was a single room a bit 'augmented' to the luxury, which was a shame. Besides, nothing special... the breakfast was correct but a little poor.
O of lot other much better hotels are around.

We stayed here last year and were so impressed we came back. It's a 20 mi walk to the river and port cellars. We enjoyed the wall, a chance to sober up and see a bit more of Porto.

Room is nice and clean wit good facilities. Bathroom is a bit tight and the sink is square with not great draining. But! Shower is lush and you can listen to the tv whilst in the bathroom!

Views are spectacular and it pays being away from the river as you get spectacular views.

Gym is abysmal, breakfast is a good continental. Staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant is to die for and most definitely one of the highlights of the hotel and for us, a highlight of the trip. Very reasonably priced for s posh meal.

All in all a very positive stay

Stayed here was part of our short-break deal and we were both disappointed and pleased with differing aspects of this hotel. The continental breakfasts were more than adequate with an excellent selection of food and beverages. Evening meals in the 17th floor restaurant not only afforded fantastic views over the city but with attentive service and good food, there wasn't always a need to find somewhere else to eat. Although catering for an international clientele, there was a choice of some traditional Portuguese dishes to try. Our disappointment lay in our room. Although plenty big enough, and very clean too, it was so dark. Even in daylight hours, we had to have all the lights on. The mattress was very hard which will not suit everyone, causing, as in our case, disruptive sleep. Aside from that, it was located close enough to the main sights of Porto and wonderfully convenient for the metro line to and from the airport!

Room Tip: Ensure it's a room that has large windows to give you light!
