One of the few wide open spaces in Porto.
This large square is bordered by old, interesting buildings, so it is a delight to stroll along and admire these buildings.

If you like architecture, venerable structures, and being immersed in history, you'll like the square. It's also home to the most elegant MacDonald's in the world....pop in and check it out
We took a private walking tour with Ana Paula of Europe Private Tours, which I couldn't get to on Trip Advisor. She was very educated and had excellent English. She was also patient as we came from the cruise port in Leixoes, which is about 30 minimum minutes away by taxi. and were running late. But when she started explaining the history of the square and all the beautiful surrounding buildings we were so glad we had her. The city is amazingly hilly but full of important history.
This a central square in Porto that links the old town with the more modern area and is close to the Sao Bento Station and the Torre des Clerigos. It has a bronze statue of King Peter IV (1862) and a McDonalds Restaurant and ther area is well done and impressive even with the McDonalds..
This square seems to be the hub of the city. It has a Mcdonalds and all the tour buses leave from here. There is a fountain and some statues but very few seats.
While walking in Porto, you’ll experience many plazas with monuments. This is as beautiful as any, always a fun visit
