Stayed in the hotel for 9 nights.
All in all, it's definitely worth the 4 stars. Staff is friendly, location is nice and the architecture of the place is amazing. Looks like they really tried to save those precious trees when designing the place. The spa is also nice and clean with the indoor swimming pool, sauna and hammam.
However, it is not without remarks:
- It's located near an excellent kite-spot and it's also mentioning that a lot, however they didn't really think things through. The kite-equipment lockers are located in a far end of the hotel with a decent walk along the hotel and to the beach with all your kite-gear. Why didn't they put these lockers on the beach, next to the bar and rental place? On the other hand, those lockers do have everything to clean your gear (and yourself) after a session.
- Be careful for the extra's. You need a bathing cap for the indoor swimming pool, instead of offering one per guest, you have to buy one if you didn't bring one. When we rented a bike, they were not willing to copy the garmin MTB route to the Garmin GPS I brought from home, instead we had to rent the GPS. Those lockers I mentioned before are also an extra by the way.
It's those small things that detract a bit from an otherwise very nice hotel.

Room 101 could be the noisiest room in any hotel EVER. Located above the sports shop and cycle hire with a view of the very dusty car park. The balcony is virtually unuseable.
However, the room is beautifully styled, spacious, good WIFI connections and the staff are friendly and efficient. The public areas are also beautifully styled, cooled by air con and the restaurant offers a good menu... served by attentive staff.
I would come again but I would insist on being located on the seaward side of the hotel. You have been warned! JChapp

Stayed here for windsurfing. Relatively small hotel, perfectly blends in with the surroundings with a clean, outdoors feel to it. Spotlessly clean and the staff are wonderful. All are polite, engaging & helpful. We had a standard room which was more than adequate although bathrooms a small and room a bit short on storage space.
Beach front location and short taxi ride into the town which is delightful. There's also an hourly ferry. Hotel isnt ideal for families but there were a surprising number of small
If you are a windsurf widow like me, we are not well catered for on the beach. The windsurf shack is small with very little seating, same goes for the beach bar and there is no shade anywhere which frankly is ridiculous. Its quite a trek back to the hotel from the beach so not ideal. Apart from that, really good stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the FeelViana. Very nice and comfortable bungalow with a giant bed and a nice living room.
This hotel is perfect for relaxing by the pool or at the Spa or for practicing sport activities (we surfed there for the first time and the beach seems to be perfect for total beginners!). All the equipment you need can be rented at the sport center. Generous and delicious breakfast!
Very nice and friendly staff. In short, a perfect place that we were sad to leave.

My wife and I joined friends here for a few days in early September. This was part of a week long vacation to northern Portugal that included Porto and the Douro valley, and we wanted to have a few days near the beach and to check out Viana do Castelo. Hotel FeelViana may have a bit of strange name and have a pretty low profile, but don’t pass it by. Cabedelo Beach is a Kiteboarding / windsurfing Mecca, and the hotel does cater to that crowd. But even if you don’t kiteboard, its great fun to watch and the beach is great for walking and chilling (in two ways - the water is freezing and the hotel has a bar on the beach.) The spa is excellent, the food very good, and the service by the crew of smiling young people was great. The common spaces were very comfortable, and the bar and restaurant have lots of outdoor seating. We had a standard room on the ocean side, and while you are just a bit too far behind the dunes to see the water, you can enjoy the sunset. The rooms (and the decor in general) is tastefully “spartan chic.” Lots of blonde wood and stone, its simple, modern and clean. The bathrooms were pretty good sized and the shower was great - no tub. My friend and I rented road bikes with GPS one morning and got in a great ride through Viana up the coast. The bikes were nearly new and in good condition. There are mountain bikes and super fat tired bikes for the beach and the wooden boardwalks. The guys in the shop were super helpful. Most of the travelers were younger europeans and Brits, children were welcomed, and it appeared to be an active crowd. But the Americans in their 50’s felt right at home and loved the place. Don’t expect an Aman resort, but this is no budget motel either. Highly recommended.
