We stayed here with two of our (grownup) children and we all had fantastic and relaxed time.
I would best describe the Hotel as being 'shabby chic' in the best possible way....not glitzy or sophisticated and a bit tired inplaces....but the rooms were excellent - a comfortable bed with mosquito nets, great air con when required, unbelievable views...and that fantastic outdoor shower!
For an all inclusive, the food was outstanding, and it was nice to have a menu with choices for all meals rather than be faced with a buffet style. Similarly the wine was good and plentiful and the drinks were always 'on tap' - either at the restaurant/lounge area, or at the two beach bars.
The staff were brilliant, considerate, efficient, friendly and helpful.
The beaches were both fantastic, with great sand and warm seas - no rocks AND no seaweed!!
Altogether a great and relaxed stay and I would recommend this to anyone who is not looking for a wild nightlife ( although the ambience was great, the drink flowed and everyone was very friendly), and also for people who were fit enough to 'climb the hill' to their rooms every night - still it worked off that last beer!
We all loved it - definitely to return

If you want a holiday and resort that is laid back, with excellent views, excellent food, friendly and has a rustic vibe then this is the place for you.

We stayed here end of September 2018 as took advantage of the low season discounts. This place really is a Antiguan gem; with stunning views, helpful/friendly staff, excellent food, beautiful beaches and rustic rooms on stilts.

We were pleasantly surprised after reading such differing reviews prior to our visit.
Our room was no.27 so a bit of a walk up the hill. It was quite rustic, with a beautiful view over the bay overlooking a few palm trees for effect. The outdoor shower is a lovely touch and very private. A shower with a view!

The food in the restaurant was really good, lovely menus with specials every day. Would recommend a few meals:

1. The Antiguan Breakfast' on a Sunday which consists of dumpling style cakes with a fish dip which was amazing,
2. 'Salmon & Cheese Bagel' comes with Capers and Onion and very tasty.
3. The 'Jerk Pork' which comes with rice, quite hot and spicy but so tasty and filling.
4. Burger & Fries,' my husband's favourite as a really big burger with lots of salad.
5. 'Fish & Chips' more 'fish & fries' but very tasty. Their batter is so good. You get two smaller fish pieces but perfect portions for us.
6. The 'Bread and Butter Pudding' which is small but very flavoursome and the best I've ever had.
7. 'Chocolate Mouse Dessert' which was a lot like 'Black Forest Gateaux' as layered with Cherry on top but blooming lovely. I couldn't finish a whole one.

To be honest all the food was really good but they were a few of our favourites.

Most days I lounged by the beautiful turquoise sea just by the main beach bar on 'Jolly Beach' while my husband was fishing (he brought his own rods out and the kitchen gave him bread and 'Akil' from the beach bar, showed him the best fishing spot).

We also used the Kayak's (the blue one as the red one is a bit lopsided) and went out around the coves to really get a feel for the place.

We really did have a lovely relaxing 10 days at 'Cocos' and could have easily stayed longer.

We also met some lovely fellow holiday makers from around the world, a few on their honeymoons which was lovely to see.

I did try the 'Pilates' but a little warning as this is 'Pop Pilates' which is a lot faster and more repetitive. I think the 'rum punch' helped ge me through it :o)

You do get a lot of beach traders on 'Jolly Beach' but they're not too pushy and if you say that you have no cash, they will leave you alone.
We did hire a big black jet ski from one of them for 30mins at $50 and that was such good fun.

My husband went out on a deep sea fishing trip, booked via the hotel which left from 'Jolly Harbour' and caught 24 large fish including species such as: Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, tuna and more. He was so pleased, said it was the best trip ever (beaten Mauritius and the Maldives). So he was happy.

Some tips:
1. Plenty of Miskito spray and bite cream. They loved me!
2. Bring your own sweetener, if you prefer it.
3. Bring you own 'English Tea' for the room (lots of flavoured teas but very few 'English Tea' options).
4. Water gets replaced in your fridge everyday but they don't always replace the crisps and snacks.
5. American plug sockets
6. Bring American Dollars for extra spending
7. Haggle with beach traders
8. Stroke all the cats as adorable
9. Look out for 'Sophia' the owner’s dog as adorable and will walk with you up and down the beach.

Note: There are some little things that need tweaking but very minor and did not impact our holiday. The hotel was in the process of replacing cushion covers, building walls, building a new 'Serenity Cottage/Spa' with a view and offices. All of which were kept very low key, so did not disturb us at all.

We will be looking to book again next year, next time with friends :o)

The location is amazing, nested on a hill with a lovely beach on each side and lovely tropical vegetation.
It delivers an authentic somewhat rustic Antiguan holiday experience, with friendly service, great food and views from every room and corner.
The outdoor shower is a true experience, although you need to compromise from time to time on availability of hot water.

The room is cosy, clean, and very private. The air-condition and a ceiling fan provided a cool relaxing afternoon snooze, after a morning at the beach followed by a three course excellent lunch.

The food was better than expected. At breakfast, there are plenty of fruits, cereal, toast and an option of a full English breakfast, eggs benedict, French toast, pancakes or smoke salmon bagel. Feel free to mix and match. Daily special will offer you the chance to try some local Caribbean breakfast such as salted fish etc. Lunch has a set menu of starters, mains and desert. The daily special offers plenty of local fish, and local vegetables cooked and served beautifully. Breakfast and Lunch are served with abundant of fresh views and relaxing sounds of the sea. Diner is also based on a set menu, with some items changing on a daily basis. During the candle lit dinner there is a sometimes lovely live music, that with a helping of a nice sea breeze make the ideal romantic atmosphere to remember. If you are celebrating a special occasion, your table will be dressed with nice flowers and vegetation from the local garden, complements from the stuff on service.

There are some activities you can book with the help of the front desk, or the staff on the beach (snorkelling, diving, deep sea fishing, boat trips, a visit to Shirley Heights or shopping trip to St John’s)

Overall:
service was good (some are excellent but few others not as good, which is a shame…);
Food / cocktails are excellent;
The real star of the show is the location and views, not short of amazing;
Highly recommended, but don’t expect a 5 start resort.

Few tips:
1. Make sure you pack insects repellent, you will need it.
2. Bring Cash (USD) to pay for extras such beach activities and excursions, you will need to pay directly to the operator, or taxi driver
3. Try their fruity hot source, and try some of the specials
4. End of September is the low season. Makes a great time to come, as the place is not busy, and apart from the odd shower now and then, the weather is generally great.

Room Tip: All rooms got a great view. The ones on the far side are newer...

Literally EVERYTHING about this place is amazing from the staff, the food/drink, the views, beaches, the rooms. Everything! The hospitality is one of the best I've ever experienced in my entire life thus far. I really don't know who will be able to top it honestly. The staff quickly feel like friends you've known your entire life. Beautiful souls! I fell in love with Antigua and everything about it!
Go! You will see what I'm talking about.

I can't say enough about this hotel and the exceptional staff who went out of their way to make our stay amazing with complimentary champagne, couples massage, birthday dinner, etc. The hotel itself is lovely with fantastic views from the premium view room, outdoor showers, and 2 beautiful quiet beaches to choose from. Sometimes if felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. The food at the hotel is also excellent, we enjoyed it so much that we ordered second servings on more than one occasion. Only suggestion: beware of the mosquitos! Going out on the balcony at night was a invitation to the waiting mob of blood suckers
