Little Haven is a lovely, unspoilt coastal village with no less than 3 excellent pubs serving a range of wonderful food including really fresh fish & sea food.
Skomer Island is nearby, with thousands of puffins in at this time of year (June), though be warned that you need to arrive at Martins Haven very early (before 7am) and queue up to have a chance to get landing tickets for the 10am sailing. Long wait, but Skomer is worth it.
Glen View cottage is quite small, but cosy and very well equipped, only about 100 yards from the beach and the pubs. At low tide it is possible to walk along the beach to the larger village of Broad Haven. Main place for shopping is Haverford West, with a large Tesco.
We were lucky to have great weather and to stay at Glen View, which was ideal for a couple, providing everything we needed for a week's holiday. Little Haven is a lovely village - very quiet while we were there. St Brides Inn is good for food. There is no shop or ATM in the village, so best to stock up with provisions and cash as you pass through Haverfordwest on your way to the cottage.
We are very grateful at being able to book just the night before, and for just a couple of nights too - AND for being allowed to bring our two Jack Russells!! Glen View was a delight from first sight and it was great to first walk into its clean, tidy, well-presented and well-stocked rooms. All comforts and appliances that we might need were there. Little Haven itself is a beautiful and peaceful village, just perfect for a short break, and we were lucky to have Glen View to return to after our explorations. Thank you, and I hope we will be able to return.
Going to Glen View is like going home from home so relaxed and comfortable the cottage has everything you need, clean and bright Bridget&Derek are very accommodating nothing is to much trouble.Little Haven is very Idyllic.
Perfect little cottage ,sparkling clean all you need for a perfect break
We will certainly return and can recomend
Today we (myself and my 11 yr old daughter) returned from our 3 night break at Glenview.
The cottage was awesome on all levels, immaculate, homely, had everything needed and it’s location was spot on. All appliances were easy to use, and having a washing machine was an added bonus. We didn’t use the built in bbq but that, along with comfy sun loungers were all there to use. My daughter used the double bed and I used the sofa bed, (all clean, ironed bedding provided for sofa bed). Sofa-bed was easy to use and there is enough space in the cottage to leave the bed made up if you wish. Tv had netflix - another bonus, and underfloor heating in bathroom and kitchen.
The weather was on our side, waking up with the sun beaming down, stable door open and watching the birds feed, we almost felt as though we were abroad.
Bridget supplied milk, tea and coffee for our arrival. The beach was 2 mins walk away, and a lovely walk along the stream and up into the woods was just opposite the cottage. Driving along the coast you have an abundance of beaches to choose to enjoy. Awesome photo opportunities of such a wonderful coastline.
We ate at St Brides Inn (1 minute away from the cottage) on one occasion, we booked in advance as the website advised, and we had the best seat in the bay window, the staff were lovely, the food was gorgeous, and they even offered smaller portions at a reduced rate. Great value.
Communication was great and Bridget even emailed and notified us of a trip to Skomer to see the Puffins. We went Coasteering at St David’s (pre-booked) and body boarded at Little Haven. The seaside town of Little Haven is lovely and I would recommend to anyone to take advantage of Glenview.
We will definitely be returning, and am looking to book right now to avoid disappointment. Thank you Bridget.
