Words don't describe it, you need to experience this wonderful place in person. Walk from the Plaka up and enjoy the amazing view and history.

A must see place. Historical and really amazing place to see. Though the disadvantage not wheelchair accessible!

So much history. To see something so old and learn the history about it is amazing. Make sure to also wonder around the area below the Acropolis.

This site is a must do if you are visiting Athens. Be prepared to encounter many, many, many people and uneven, slippery surfaces. It can be difficult to take pictures close to the Parthenon as every single person wants to pretty much do the same thing. My husband was trying to take a selfie when another tourist walked right in front of him, tried to bend down, but ended up pushing my husband's hand which resulted in my husband dropping down his phone (face cracked a bit on the right corner... upsetting, but that's what happens when there are too many of us in one place). We visited in June so it was extremely hot and breezy (we needed to sometimes close our eyes and cover our mouths because of dirt flying everywhere). Very nice views of the city though. I only wish we could get closer to the Parthenon, but it is undergoing restoration. Nevertheless, a great piece of history and an awesome site to visit. Beautiful place!
