“Conference organisation”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

We organised a conference on "Cultural Entrepreneurship". The cooperation with the responsibles and the employees of the hotel was perfect as far as they responded fast to all of our demands and they helped a lot with the organisation. The participants of the conference really liked the location as far as the hotel is situated just a few minutes walking distance from the center of Athens, in a quiet quartier and the view of the roof garden where the lunch took place was amazing!

We chose Saint George Lycabettus to host our guests for the Francophone Film Festival. We have been collaborating with them for years, as the staff is really helpful and polite and the hotel is at a walking distance from the French Institute of Athens.
Our guests were very pleased with the quality of their stay, as well as the great views to the Acropolis and Lycabettus hill.

We stayed in this hotel for one night and it was perfectly acceptable. The breakfast upstairs was great and the view from the restaurant is unmatched!

On March 10th 2012 we held a dinner followed by a party at La Suite Lounge of the hotel. The staff went out of its way to organize the whole event while whenever advice and help was needed before and during the event, someone was always there to accomodate us. Experienced staff across the board, great food, excellent cocktails, on-the-spot solutions for some (minor) problems and last-minute changes and special attention given by the staff to every detail.

Regarding the suite we stayed in, the view was great and the room was as expected for a suite at a 5-star hotel.

I am recommending the venue for its high caliber service, perfect location offering exquisite views of the city and proximity to shops, bars, clubs and restaurants (although any guest could drink and dine throughout the stay in the hotel because it is simply worth it...) and for the overall experience.

JNS

Room Tip: Suite 514-515 combines excellent views of the city and on mount Lycabettus.

The hotel is quite old and definitely not a 5-stars hotel.
The decoration is below average with many noted fixes and patches all around the small bedroom and bath. The bedroom was far away from the photos on their web site and the word “deluxe” as they describe their rooms.
The room was supposed to have a Lycabettus view, but instead had a big construction site.
The parking was a rip-off (25 euros), internet too.
Breakfast on the roof garden was also average.
If you manage to get a room with a view, then that’s the only good thing. Other than that, doesn’t worth more than 60-70 euros per night.

Room Tip: Try to have Acropolis view, or do not book there at all.

Dear User Gadgetakiasm
With great respect we read your comments about our hotel.
Our hotel is always happy to receive objective & constructive comments and feedback from our guests.
Regarding the parking rates please note that the rates are according to the market and competition in the area.
The hotel offers free Wi-Fi internet access at its Public areas, but not the premium service of 24Mbps (download speed) which starts from 6 Euros charge. We also have many discount packages with respect to the Internet usage that offer many discounted options which are used in conjunction with the room rate and are available for booking over the Internet.
Our hotel is distinguished among other local Hotels for its premium view to Acropolis and Athens even from inside the rooms which makes the stay unique in one of our superior rooms.
We would be glad to accommodate you once more in order to prove our hospitality and concern for the wellbeing of our guests.

Despite the efforts of the staff and being indeed very polite, kind and helpful, the hotel overall was a great disappointment. Nothing to coincide with the fame of the hotel's name. The room was very small and old and the decoration in general was really kitch. Not good value for money!

Dear User Mantia,
We would like to assure you that all reviews are welcome and given the appropriate attention.
St. George Lycabettus Hotel is considered to be among the best hotels in Athens center area and with its unique view to Athens and Acropolis has guaranteed quality hospitality throughout the years to the Greek or International visitors to Athens.
We understand that the room’s scheme might not be to your liking, however the term "kitch» is demeaning and completely untrue.
We are waiting to accommodate you once more to prove our hospitality

The hotel is nestled in an upscale neighborhood very close to Syntagma Square, and within a reasonable hike to the Plaka. The staff is very helpful and made great suggestions to a variety of requests. Definitely upgrade to an Acropolis-facing room; the view is spectacular and worth the extra euros. The rooms are adequate and clean and while the property shows its age, on the same token, it is well maintained. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Athens.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money to get an Acropolis-facing room.
