Recently stayed at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens which is located in a mostly residential area about a 5 minute walk from the Metra (which is easy to navigate). It looks like it used to be a very busy convention hotel but was subdued when we were there. It also looks a little dated but you don't sleep in the lobby! The rooms are clean, nicely sized and the showers/bath were fine. We booked it through their website and got a pretty good deal, especially for Athens. Breakfast is stupid expensive (30euro if you didn't purchase it as a package). There are several restaurants nearby none of them really serves what I would describe as an American breakfast - mostly coffee and perhaps a pastry.

Very nice clean quite hotel, with good restaurant, very beautiful fitness club on top, sauna and beauty saloon. A little expensive but is a standard as a five star hotel.
The only thing is that is far from city center so you have to take a taxi or walk for 5 minutes to take a metro.
The pool in the summer should be a good place to stay but in November is too cold to try it :)
Very nice place to stay very quite.

My 81-year-old mother and I spent several nights here and we found the staff very accommodating, the food excellent, and the rooms to be delightful. As others have noted, the shower doors are a little curious in that they allow water to escape; however, the baths were recently redesigned and this minor element (which I'm sure will be remedied) was inconsequential in the larger picture. The bartender at the pool was amazingly congenial, and the view was lovely. Nearby restaurants surrounding a pleasant park made for delightful mealtimes with our fellow travelers. If you need five-star, go elsewhere--but if you want comfortable, easy-to-navigate, well-located accommodations with a free shuttle bus into the city, the Divani is a great choice. Breakfast buffet is enormous and varied--great start to the day! Thank you, Divani people--we had a wonderful stay!!

We were moved to a new room after a plumbing problem occurred in the first one. Both rooms had serious problems with the shower doors. The other nine friends staying at the hotel noted the same problem in their rooms. It would be a simple thing to add a plastic strip to the hinged side of the door instead water goes everywhere. Our upgraded suite had duct tape down the side of the shower door - didn't help.

The staff was fanastic with the only exception being the desk clerk who checked us in. Apparently the reservation omitted the fact that there were three of us in the room. He was not nice about it.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful and the service outstanding.

Just returned on Oct. 17th from a hotel stay here for 2 days. We didn't find this hotel great, but it was OK. We were more concerned with our location with stopping over in Athens. There are some restaurants just around the corner from this hotel which makes it nice to go out in the evening if you don't want to go too far. Very hard mattress but clean. Our son shared our room & he slept on a pull out sofa that was very uncomfortable. Our room & bathroom seemed very clean however, our daughter & son in law's wasn't. The roof top swimming pool isn't nearly as spectacular as the photos. We wouldn't stay here again.
