Description: - "To Trikyklo" (tricycle) is a cafeteria- tavern- bar, located next to the park of the Lambrakis hill, at the pedestrian of Pytheou str., in a renovated two-floor stone building of 1931, with its own yard and tables outside, on the pedestrian street in the summer. We are located very close to the Acropolis Museum and the Temple of Zeus. Although outside the tourist area of downtown Athens, we are very close to it on foot. The menu consists of authentic Greek and Mediterranean recipes, prepared with love and creativity. --All Greek (and other) spirits served, are carefully selected!

I live just few blocks away from TRIKYKLO! The food is amazing and the ambiance also! People there are more than friendly and I recommend it to both tourists and locals!

We were looking for the best place to eat far from the touristic restaurant. By case, we picked up To Trikyklo, a tavern full of native people. We shared different dishes recommended by the owner: greek salad, eggplant with cheese, fried feta with honey and sesame, pig neck with orange sauce (you have to try!!) , marinated anchovies, jack potatoes with mushrooms. All of these were superlatives!
The total amount was 20€ each including real taste red wine, dessert and typical ouzo. For sure we will return!

We visited To Trikyklo after a strong recommendation from a friend. We were sorely disappointed at what we found.

Our hostess was very nice, and very professional. The waiter she handed us off to, however, was neither of those things. He was rude, and tried to give us upsells we did not want and had not asked for. He sold us a 50mL bottle of ouzo before allowing us to order the more reasonably priced 200mL bottles, which we did not buy because we were so frustrated by the poor service and food by that point all we wanted to do was pay and leave.

Our greek salad was smothered in old, stale olive oil, something nobody expects in Greece. Our veal was bland, badly seasoned, and not worth the price. The fries served with it were inedible. (or, as my partner says, a catastrophe) They were soggy, improperly cooked, and served dumped over the veal without care. Our complaints fell on deaf ears, and we were charged for them anyway despite trying to send them back more than once.

When the bill came, it was thrown unceremoniously into the plants near our table. It was not presented to us. When we asked for our bill, we were met with hostility for having not seen the bill in the plants.

We would strongly advise people against going here, despite the one dish, the baked feta cheese, that was good.
