When you are back home after a holiday full of new experiences - people, places food, music - there are always one or two of those experiences that stand out in your memory. Our day with Ioannis Ninos, exploring the Athens food scene, was one of those experiences. He was an excellent guide - knowledgeable and fun to be with - and took us to places we would have never found on our own in the short time we spent in Athens. We spent the day eating and drinking and talking about our different cultures: ours Caribbean, his Greek, and the time passed all to quickly. Thank you Ioannis for a perfect day !
Panos was a superbly accommodating and knowledgable guide who was exceptionally amicable and energetic while showing us the cuisine in Athens. Would highly recommend booking a tour with Panos to get a flavor of Greek street food!
This tour was great! Not just the food but walking the area like a local and feeling the neighborhood. Our guide, George, a chef, was brilliant! So good with food pairings with drinks and the Greek philosophy of eating. So knowledgeable, I feel we should get at least three college credits for this tour. George was really great and we would recommend this tour to everyone!! Did I mention LOTS of food and drink?!!
We were lucky enough to spend the afternoon today tasting the flavours of Athens and learning about local culture and history with Yannis Ninos of Athens Insiders. In addition to being a fabulous guide, Yannis is also a chef and a food lover who truly enjoys sharing his passion with his clients, which made the tour an unforgettable experience for all of us, including (especially!) our kids aged 11 and 7. Yannis tailored the tour to suit us - and we tasted olive oils, sweet pastries, savoury pies, souvlaki and more. We learned a lot and feel well prepared to eat well on the rest of our holiday in Greece. Our one regret... not having more time in Athens to do a morning tour to the markets with Yannis or a cooking class with him! Can’t recommend highly enough.

George was fantastic. What a great way to wander through the neighborhoods, learning not only about the excellent cuisine and tasting great stuff, but also a bit of culture, history, and cool facts about Athens. Never felt rushed and never a dull moment.
We received recommendations about what to try not only during our stay in Athens but also on our trip out to the islands we visited afterwards. We were a family of 4 (kids in their 20's) and everyone absolutely loved this tour. Bravo George!
