Great value, clean and warm room, good breakfast, helpful staff. Close to the metro, not the best neighborhood but we experienced no problems.

This is a no frills hotel. Breakfast is basic as is the room. If you're looking for a place to sleep while exploring, this is the place. It's clean and close to the metro. The staff is EXCELLENT and always very helpful.

My friend and I stayed at the Pergamos in Feb 2012. (In rooms 303 and 205)

Firstly the staff couldn't be more helpful, especially Manuel, who gave excellent advice in getting around the city and places to go.

The rooms give you free use of a safe which I have found to be a rarity, and the rooms are cleaned daily, with fresh bed linen and towels too. People on here have commented on the neighbourhood, and all I would say is that you're in a major capital city. Caution should be taken at all times. But we noticed NO crime whatsoever, and felt safe walking around, even at night.

The free Wi-Fi was brilliant and a great way to be able to keep in touch with people back home, to let them know how we were doing on our trip. The beds were really comfortable too, which made it very difficult to get up in the mornings, but well worth the lay in!

We were due to stay here for three nights, but ended up staying for six (as a different hotel we were due to stay at was horrendous!). All in all, the hotel exceeds beyond what I would expect from how much it cost, and when I return to Athens, I shall definitely be staying there again.

I stayed here for the first leg of our Greece trip in Athens. Although the hotel itself may look like it's in a dodgy area (ie. prostitutes walking around at night), use some sense and walk during the day. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the metro/subway lines.

When we first arrived, we were greeted by the hotel desk clerk/owner not sure. He was an older man who was extremely nice and was always helpful with advice and directions.

The room was fine, it had a tv, mini fridge, a clean bathroom. There is a separate room for when they serve breakfast (toast, some luncheon meat, eggs etc).

I would stay here again as the price wasn't so bad, the location is good and the management was very nice.

Ok hotel in the center of Athens, the stuff was really helpfull especially the girl in the morning shift.
The worst thing was the noise, we could hear everything even 3 floors under us.
It's ok for 1-2 nights. Be carefull at night the area is quite creapy!

The hotel staff is made up by the nicest people, who are willing to help you with every need. It is 7 minutes from the metro station of Omonia, one of the central ones. The rooms are quite comfortable, essential but clean. For breakfast there is not much choice, but there is a really nice bakery on the way to the metro so one can get something more for cheap. Considering the neighborhood, the hotel definetely stands out, we did not expect it to be so nice. We were a group of 10 people and we stayed for 4 nights: no complaints at all, only good memories of it. If one is not willing to spend a lot but wants to find a clean and nice room, this is what one should look for.

I've been there for 2012 New Year Eve.

At the beginning (and after reading all tripadvisor comments) I was a bit worried about the place, in Omonia, where this hotel is located. But I can say that you will not have troubles, even the area looks dirty and not really safe, in the night as well.

The building is old outside and inside. Rooms are big enough but toilet is really small and you will need practice to have a safe shower. Impossible to do not make wet the toilet's floor.
In the room anyway you can watch an lcd tv with Euronews if you cannot speak greek. Good that you can find a safebox, bad that is so small you will not keep (for example) a netbook.
Anyway the most important thing is that they tidy up the rooms and change towels and soap every day. (An exception is the blanket, quite dirty!).

Breakfast is cheap and consist exactly in: Bread, ham and cheese slices, butter, jams, choco and corn flakes, hot/cold milk, coffee and tea and orange juice. If you think that is not too bad, you have to know that all these ingredients are really cheap and when you will have the first bite you will understand what I mean. :)

What about the staff? That was the biggest surprise. All 3 receptionists were nice and kind but I must say thanks to Joanna for all the information and suggestions of all the days I spent there. She has sweet manners, a good english and she will do all she can to be helpful and make easier your visit in Athens. Thanks to Manolis/Manuel as well, a great worker that you will find smiling even if in the night shift! I've been in a lot of hotels and I can say to you is not so easy to find this staff even if in a 5 stars hotel.

If you are looking for a really cheap hotel in Athens, this is the one. Prices as an hostel but service of a (very cheap) hotel. Staff is a great and helpful plus.

Do not worry too much for the area, Pergamos is 5-7 minutes from Omonia metro station. Way to get there is very easy, from Omonia station (there are a lot of exits) do not miss 3th september street.

Enjoy your stay in Athens!
