Got pick pocketed at the train station. Beware at all times. Was only in there for a few minutes buying a train ticket and that was enough time for them to strike. Wait in line for a Taxi if it means avoiding the POS that do this to people.

Used Piraeus Port when arriving from Rhodes island for a short visit.
On disembarking you either take a taxi or shuttle bus to the edge of the port then there is a ten minute walk to leave the port area. A further 5 to 10 minutes takes you to the Metro station at Piraeus for a 3 euro journey to Athens centre taking about 25 minutes. Shuttle bus visits the edge of port again when you return so it’s quite a smooth journey back to your ferry . Just make sure you check your gate number as there’s very many ferries arriving and leaving at this big port. They Make it quite easy though ..

Hugh port with lots of gates. Make sure you know where you are going since it's quite a hike to get from one place from another. Cruise ship and ferry terminals are widely separated so if you are going from one to another give yourself plenty of time. You can reach it by Public Transportation, but we cabbed it every time we came or went. Your choice, but if you are travelling with a lot of luggage a cab saves a lot of wear and tear.

A good size port, lots of walking with luggage unless you are taking your vehicle on board the ferry. Must know your gate number and plan getting there ahead as there may be few ferries parked and you would need to inquire as to which is yours.
