We loved this hotel and would definitely go back to it next time we are on the island. It’s located within a 10-15 minute walk to several beaches, the city center, and many restaurants. The room we were in was large and had almost a full kitchen. There were several balcony’s with mosquito netting if you like to leave the windows/doors open at night. The only odd thing were the notices about not putting any paper into the toilets.

The people there were also very nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in the city for any length of time.

Warm welcoming owners Maria and Nikos always friendly and willing to give directions or suggestions. Maria did a full load of laundry for us for only 5 Euro. Location is somewhat difficult to find the first time if you don’t know the specific location or understand the narrow one way streets of Agios Nikolaos but once we figured that out there was no further problem in finding it just a block up from the marina and Ammos Beach. Tall amber building with the name marked on the side. We were always able to get parking at the back of the hotel. Easy to walk to all the main shopping areas, tavernas and town beaches from this location. The back entry by the parking area has a shower set up for showering off any sand from the beach. Nice open sitting area in the lobby at street level. Hotel style is very typical Greek of stucco, tiles and marble floors. Nice and cool in the heat. There is a two person or one person/one suitcase elevator; we mostly used the stairs except for getting luggage up and down. Our one bedroom apartment had a lovely view out over the sea. Bedroom had two singles together for a double bed (a little bit hard for my back), small vanity and closet area an patio doors that opened out to the balcony overlooking the sea. Bathroom was smallish but had good hot and cold water and nice sized shower with sliding door. Living area had table and chairs, couch, great aircon, a very tiny flatscreen tv and a kitchenette that was stocked with everything that we needed for dishes and utensil, kettle etc. We did not cook hot meals there so did not make use of the small combo stove/oven unit. Patio doors from the living area also opened out onto the nice large balcony overlooking the sea. Balcony area had table and chairs and clothes lines that came in handy for drying clothes or towels. This was a very comfortable apartment for our stay, convenient location and the most wonderful owner/hosts.

The apartment has a nice Greek style atmosphere: some of the furniture are built with walls and overall you have the feeling to be in Greece and not in a random place.

The apartment is really big with two nice balcony and a good size bathroom. The kitchenette is fully furnished.

The hotel is near the lake and the port: excellent location!

We stayed in the Mantraki for 5 nights and it turned out to be a great choice - spacious 1 bedroom apartment with genuine period character and a sea view. The hotel itself was a perfect base for exploring the town and the various beaches and bits of sea front. Only downside was locating the hotel in the first instance - which is down a side street. The owners and staff of the hotel are genuine and friendly people and were helpful in every way - including some very good restaurant recommendations. Overall I would strongly recommend this if you are thinking of staying in Ag Nik.

Excellent time, 11 special nights in a lovely place with very good friends, made very welcome, friendly people, good service, delicious food, minutes from the safe beach, have some chips at the brothers or some ice cream in town at dodoni, lots to do, or just chill on the secluded balcony
