Owner description: Pyrgaki Beach is located at the south-west of Naxos, 20km from the port and the airport and is an ideal destination for all those who want to enjoy their holidays in a quiet and extremely beautiful environment. The high Northern winds cannot reach the area because of the location of the beach.Pyrgaki Beach is an area protected by the NATURA 2000 network because of its rare natural beauty which combines sea and cedars.

This is a huge expanse of fine sand and, despite being the height of the summer season, there was hardly anyone there. There is a hotel where you can buy drinks if you wish, otherwise there's hardly anything here other than sand and more sand.

It's lovely, peaceful and quiet and an ideal spot to come by yourself or bring the family.

The water is lovely and clear and perfect for swimming, even though not very warm, that seems to be the case everywhere in Greece.

Naxos, like the rest of the Cyclades, can get very windy and your choice of beach may well be determined by the wind direction. This beach was a nice choice on a day when the high winds made it impossible to sunbathe nearer to Naxos town.

Buses do run here but not very frequently, so you need to get the timetable in town.

This is a calm and beautiful beach! I stress calm because September has been very windy. Calm blue water! There are around 50 sets of umbrellas and chairs you can rent for 5 euro which is best deal I have seen. This is a top 2 beach on whole island. Chad

Wrote yesterday a review of Mikri Village beach and gave it a 5. But, I admit that in compare with Pyrgaki me and my wife have to add an additional + for Pyrgaki. Provided you like exceptional smooth sand and tranquility! Hard to believe that you will find a better beach.. The taverna just above was also great. After dinner there we decided to take main meals at similar places and ditch tourist restaurants in the town with a replacement of lighter meals as gyros, crepes or alike... The beach has not a single stone and you will have a feeling of child's skin under your feet.. That's what we appreciate for a real relaxed vacation.

Nice beach. Rocks in the water. Nice waves. Clear blue water. A good place to walk and to take the sun. Secure.

The beaches in Pyrgaki are not frequently traveled to by the local bus. It is best to rent a vehicle (we rented an ATV) to get there. It was well worth the effort. The beaches were pristine, with beautiful soft white sand and clear gentle waters. Off to the edge there was a rock formation with fish that could be easily approached by swimming from the beach. Best of all was the solitude of the area with minimal number of tourist and no panhandlers. Local restaurants were within a short drive along the main road, providing food (the restaurant we randomly chose was quite good). I did not see any bathroom facilities in the beach area.
