“We loved this and hoping to go back next year!!”
Reviewed 4 August 2011

4th July - 18th July 2011

This was mine and my partners first holiday together and anniversary and ive always gone to Majorca so we twent to Greece as i had not been here. Once we finally arrived due to gatwick queing times for check in :/ we were sent to our room straight away, we had the smallest studio out of the whole complex which I loved as we didnt have as many mosquitos in the night. George and Marianna were great the drinks and food were amazing from the pool bar especally the cocktail shots. :) this is an apartment for familys and couples that enjoy meeting people we met 2 couples out here who we are meeting up with in the Uk.

Alot of the comments about the rooms I do not know why they moan, yes the shower does not have a curtain but there is a door to shut to go into the bathroom and if you are with your partner or family then surely you shouldnt care. You still have privacy behind a closed door. Our rooms were cleaned nearly everyday if we wanted clean sheets or towels when we asked the maids they were polite and gave us them.

The pool was cleaned every day and we saw this and the pool area was always cleaned my George every evening.

Is more than happy to return and hoping to go back next year for a week or 2 weeks like we did this time.

Thank you
Mariana and George:)

We have just arrived back from the Anemona apartments. Having read all other reviews, we must agree that they are very very basic, however this is Greece. The bar and pool area was really nice and clean. George and Mariana were the perfect host's nothing was to much trouble and they made you feel very welcome. The rooms were adequate, you had a kettle and hob but it wasn't worth trying to cook on it as it took forever. However the prices at the bar were so cheap it was hardly worth bothering to cook. We had a two bedroom apartment and the second bedroom had no wardrobe so the children lived out of a suitcase for a fortnight, lol. It really didn't matter, there was eight in our party, four adults two teenage girls of eighteen and our boys, fifteen. We had a fantastic time, the location was more important to us and what a fantastic location it was. Five minutes walk and you were on the main strip so just far enough away from any noise but close enough if the teenagers wanted to go out.. I would definately stay here again, its cheap, fantastic location and very very friendly.

When we arrived the apartments looked nice, then we got inside and was a bit gutted. They are VERY basic rooms. The beds are VERY HARD and you have to hold the shower to have a shower.... But it was the best holiday my husband and i have had in a very long time. The Greek people are fantastic. Food is great and cheep. Cocktails and spirits are expensive 4.80 euro for s JD and coke but only 2 euro for a local beer.
We hired a speed boat for two hours 55 euro, we went all around the coves it was lovely. There are a few shops where they sell fake designer bags, t shirts, sun glasses and plenty of supermarkets.
We are used to 5 star all inclusive and this holiday was a cheep last min job but it was so nice we have just booked to take the children in September.

i really enjoyed my stay here, and it is completely down to the staff , 2 of the most friendly staff George and mariana , the were unreal , from good bar service to literally getting yogurt from there own food to give to my girlfriend as she had gotten burnt that day!

the pool is perfect , big and cleaned every night as we witnessed ,
sun beds were comfortable and there was always enough
the beer..... unbelievable , the nicest i could find in all of corfu and only 2 quid , class!!!
they even had a few sneaky drinks with us!

extrememly close to the beach and to the town strip , perfect walk home not even 5 minutes , close enough to walk and far enough away to sleep noise free , it really was perfect.

the rooms are big and yeah the mattresses are hard but sure ur not paying for 5 star hotels here and they'll make do , the kitchen is grand fridge , tap , sure the food is so cheap ya eat out , u can request new towels or sheets if u want , or the cleaners can clean the rooms but they tend to call very early!!! so we usually didn't bother!!

all in all this place is perfect , u don't wana go on holiday and stay in ur room all day and this is really nice and friendly place , clean and great hosts !!! RECOMMEND!!!!

we went to the anemona aparts for the fist week of july, we loved our holiday there. the rooms are basic and very spacious. they are cleaned daily. the hotel staff are the friendliest of any hotel i have stayed in, they make you feel so welcome. the hotel is in a good location a 5 min walk to the strip but far enough away that it was nice and quiet.

Externally the apartments look great but internally they're in need of some tlc.

They are very spacious, we had a two bedroom apartment and our daughters had a studio which would comfortably sleep 3. When I say comfortably, that id if the mattresses weren't almost as hard as the tiled floor! I'd seen a review stating the mattresses were hard but as I like a hard mattress thought it was exaggerated. It was not!!

The kitchen is ill equipped but eating out is so cheap it didn't really matter but as there were 4 of us I would expect 4 of everything. There were only 3 chairs on our balcony?

The fridge was very old with lots of bits missing but it did keep my beer cold.

I've been to Greece many times before and know their accommodation is basic but I expected it to be cleaner. The bin was emptied every day and the beds straightened but that was it. No cleaning was done and there is no cleaning equipment so you can't clean the floors yourself.

The towels and floor mat from the wet room were never changed.

We had the usual leaky shower head that isn't fixed to anything and got warmish water about tea time on most days. It was never actually hot.

The pool and bar area are very nice and there are plenty of sun loungers to go around. It's a shame the small flower beds aren't maintained, it wouldn't take much effort. We never saw the pool being cleaned, other places we've visited seem to do it daily but is seems to be clean enough.

They do good value meals and a 400ml draught beer for 2 euro. Safe deposit boxes are only 5 euro for the week.

George and Marriane are lovely people and we enjoyed our stay, we decided not to let the room get us down and had a fun packed holiday.

Would I go back to the Anemona? No!

Would I recommend it? No!

Should you worry if you've booked it? No, it's not the best for comfort or cleanliness but there's much worse out there and there is a good fun atmosphere.

I first went here in 2004, and returned again in 2007,8,9 and 2010 and we're back again this July. i have to say the place has got a little 'worn' since our first couple of visits. it used to be run by Kosmar, which of course went bust in 2007, and since then i think its changed hands and just needs a bit of TLC. However, we love it and all its little quirks. The staff are lovely, the rooms are adequate (we always request a ground floor room so we can hop over the little wall of our balcony and straight by the pool). There's never been a shower curtain in any of the rooms since we first went, but its not the end of the world, and once you run out of loo roll its either 'nick one from the communal loo or take your own !!. The hotel is perfectly situated in a quiet part of Sidari, but only 5 mins walk into the nightlife. The breakfasts are really good value for money because, even though you think they are more expensive than those in town, they come with juice and coffee/tea, whereas you get a cheap one on the 'Strip' but they fleece for the drink as an extra. There is no reception, but the bar staff are 'do it all' and are excellent. You can hire aircon, safety deposit boxes etc there and they really do try to do their best. You never have to fight for a sunbed as there are always plenty. All in all a cracking little place and i'm hooked.
