Near the aquaduct and shopping streets, the church of St Nicolas is rightly renowned for its monument with a beautiful mosaic of the story of St Paul arriving in Kavala.
Its golden tiles glisten in the sunlight and the detail is impressive
You will want to take a photo, guaranteed

This is an open air mosaic. A must visit when in Kavala. The inset gold in the mosaic bits make it very luminous. A fine example of Byzantine art.

It was built as a mosque during the Ottoman period. After the Ottoman rule in Kavala, the majority of the local people turned Christian because of being a Christian. Great mosaic decorations are included.
This exceptional work is located in the city center, near the aqueducts.

We all know the story.
Paul has a dream that a man from Macedonia asks him to come and visit.
Paul comes by boat and lands in Kavala and the mosaics celebrate the story.
It is nicely done!

On the outside wall of a church since 1923 that started as a mosque in 1520 is something to see. A classic Byzantine mosaic it illuminates St Paul's journey in the area

The first place where Apostle Paul stepped on the ground of Europe is in Kavala. There was built a Monument. Nice and interesting place!

This is near the port of Kavala. It is a very nice mosaic about Apostle Paul, right in front of a church. Worth going and taking a look.

Everyone knows that Kavala and its surroundings were the places where the Apostle Paul arrived, moving from Israel. Also in Filipi it is possible to visit the place where he was probably prisoned and where he presumably died. This monument is not impressive, a part for the tales around the Apostle Paul.
