Located up in the hills, the hotel has a great atmosphere and very good service.
The rooms are nice, with good air conditioning.
The staff does all they can to make you feel "at home".
The breakfast is very creative and tasty.
Would stay there again.

Room Tip: If you need internet connection, make sure to get a room close to the modem. Its network is very bad.

A beautiful, small hotel located a few minutes stroll from the harbourside, which was good, because it was away from the noise of the main tourist area which can go nearly all night. Every thing was within walking distance, lots of trattorias to choose from. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean, beautiful décor and friendly family staff. Free wifi and independent air con were an added bonus, but the best thing about the hotel was the breakfast. Different each morning and really delicious! We would certainly return and would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the gorgeous little island of Hydra.

I loved it. Mistral hotel is such a homy and comfortable hotel . The staff makes you feel at home and they are very friendly and kind. Their dog Bella is super cute . Their breakfast is home-made and very fresh and delicious. The rooms and the bathroom are very clean. We had a very nice time there and I definitely recommend it and would love to go back .

What a lovely hotel. Staff and owners so friendly and helpful. Breakfast amazing, extensive selection, too much to eat in all the heat. Soup for breakfast is a first, but delicious nonetheless.

Beautiful surroundings, breakfast served on a big terrace. Efficient aircon. Excellent wifi, drinking a beer on the terrace watching Wimbledon and a little plate of nibbles arrived, so many lovely touches. Free towel loan for the beach.

Hydra itself, was hot, 37 in the shade furing last week in June. Beautiful island, lovely people. Buildings all white with intense blue, or cool grey painted woodwork. Lots of cobbled streets to explore, and yes, the cobbles are just as slippery as you have read, sandals and flip flops are best. Do pop in to Amalour for early evening cocktails. Take the left hand street at the side of Amalour for a fantastic little restaurant. Fresh fish, squid ink pasta, pizza and lovely young woman running it all, made such a lovely evening.

Try Mandraki beach via water taxi, you can walk but its about an hour walk without any shade. There is a lovely taverna, sunbeds with canopy, getting in and out of the sea is easier to negotiate than Bisti. Buy some glittery plastic shoes on the harbour at Hydra, well worth the money. The Taverna at Mandraki serves lovely food, huge 'shrimps' twice the size of what we call king prawns. They will bring you any drinks you order, or you can sit and take in the view from the elevated seating area.

Bisti beach is lovely too, though very difficult to get into and out of the sea, see above and buy shoes. It has a snack shack and serves a nice salad. Do remember which boat your arrived on, you can only get the same boat back.

Look out for the local homemade lemonade and ginger, very cooling and refreshing whilst sitting on the harbour to watch the stunning boats arriving and departing. See how many anchors catch on a huge cable/rope that seems to go across the harbour floor. Much fun to be had, watching people trying to get free.

The Museum is a must and gives a deep insight into the Maritime history of Hydra.

Room Tip: Top floorterrace, 1room has direct access; 2rooms access from corridor. Can dry swimwear. Beautiful views. Floor is too hot without shoes!
