The location of this hotel is perfect, being less than a 5 minute walk from the harbour. You enter through a small court yard filled with flowers & plants, you get a wonderful sense of peace, like you were entering a cocoon. The bedrooms are big and comfortable with a small kitchenette, all spotlessly clean. We loved our 3 nights stay here & it was made perfect by the owner Hilda, who was always on hand to answer questions or advise on areas to visit. We arrived as strangers & left as friends, with a bag of seeds for my friends garden.
Thank you Hilda,we really enjoyed our stay with you.

Best place to stay in hydra island!
1.PERFECT LOCATION! Less than one minute walk from the port and next to all the good traditional taverns...
2.VERY COZY AND COMFORTABLE! The room was absolutely amazing... It combines comfort with the classy style of old greek navy architecture and design!
3.DELICIOUS BREAKFAST! Can't be described with words so I attach some photos.
In a few words THE ABSOLUTE EXPERIENCE in Hydra and the highlight of our trip! We will come back again soon!

I highly recommend Phaedra Hotel. Our room was very comfortable and we had plenty of space. Nicely decorated - understated and lovely. A plentiful breakfast was served to us at our own table outside our room in a little courtyard. Hilda, the owner, is very helpful, even arranging to have a taxi ready to pick us up when we returned to the mainland. The hotel is close to the center of town, but enough outside the crush to be quiet and peaceful. Hydra was one of the most magical places we found in our two weeks in Greece, and this hotel was a perfect place from which to explore the town and the surrounding areas.

Our charming room has a balcony with an oblique view of the sea is one of the nicest rooms we have found in Greece. The room is bright and light, simply furnished with a wooden floor and windows on three sides with a pretty wrought iron balcony from which there is a magnificent view over the rooftops to the mountain and down to the sea. There is an unnecessary kitchenette and an adequate bathroom all spotless but the bedroom is the best. Windows have pretty white linen decoupage lace curtains and the woodwork is Hydra grey. An iron bedstead and white linen. simple good taste. Free slightly patchy wifi. Outside the room is another terrace with chairs and tables which gets the morning sun, we had this to ourself in September. Hilda is very helpful, arranging transfers for us and providing beach towels. Breakfast is a huge meal including delicious Greek yogurt and fresh fruit and strong coffee which is what I like but if you want hard boiled eggs and ham, cakes and pastries they are all provided. Last year we stayed at the Bratsera which is delightful but we preferred this bedroom. It's really special.

Room Tip: Phaedra is the room we stayed in so cannot comment on the others

Stayed three nights in Phaedra having booked via booking.com, €140 per night, B&B. Breakfast was delicious - just enough. Nice coffee and fresh fruit + cakes and bread. However accommodation lacked somewhat. Little storage, tired looking, on the ground floor and dingy. A premium price for a not so premium room! Apparently this is the room made available on booking.com so would advise booking directly. Only €10 difference between the booking.com room and the nicer rooms. Seems the owner is playing a little game, based on hotel reputation and 'last room availability' on booking.com.
