Arhus is a problem town for hotels if you have a travel budget, but Hotel Ferdinand offers a good value alternative. I paid the same price as the Ritz or Scandic, but instead of a small twin room had an enormous and attractive suite with good furniture comfortable beds and a large walk in shower.
Downstairs is a good if pricey brasserie, and there is plenty of choice nearby as the hotel is in the midle of the Aarhus restaurant and cafe area.
Two drawbacks, street noise from late night revellers and early morning dustbin collection/street cleaning (bring earlpugs to Aarhus, many hotels have this problem), and a strange cabbage smell in the bathroom (weak eco friendly toliet cleaner could be the culprit- they should blast it with bleach!)
