The grounds are lovely--on the water with a terrace and parkland. The staff were super friendly, and the lobby was nice. But that's where the joy stops. The grand exterior is just a facade to dumpy rooms.
The hotel had three lifts but only one was operational.
Our room was ratty and in dire need of renovation. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The pillows were non-feather (great for allergy sufferers), but worn. There were power outlets under each nightstand, which is helpful in today's electronic age, but on or above the nightstand (even a power hub) would be more convenient. The room did not have a coffeemaker or mini-fridge. The doors in the room, including the main door to the room, were all so thin, not secure feeling.
The bathroom had a shower only, with some mold in the tile grout--housekeeping needs to scrub that better. The bathroom door was worn at the bottom. The shower water pressure was just OK, but the hot water stayed hot. The towels were dreadfully thin. There was a wall-mounted hair dryer.
The free WiFi was intermittent but strong in the moments or worked. Parking was free in their large open-air lot.
This hotel has the possibility to be as nice inside as its grand exterior...if only someone would renovate the rooms and update the decor from the current poor condition.More
