Stayed at the Admiral for the first time on a 2 night business trip. Initially, I was excited because the room faced the water and the opera house. But, each night I regretted it as the bar/restaurant has outdoor tables on the same side and festivities were late and loud both nights. A complaint to the front desk after midnight did no good. This problem is further compounded by the absence of air conditioning. The room got stuffy (pleasant and not overly warm September evening) so i slept with the window open. I would probably stay here again but only during the season when there is no outdoor bar service.

As others have said, the location is great. Fantastic walking/running along the water and a very short walk to Nyhavn. I didn't eat in the restaurants -- way too expensive.

Room Tip: Stay away from the lower floor rooms overlooking the bar. Too noisy if the outdoor bar is open.

No free wi-fi, stiffed me on the sea view room I paid for, 'sorry, there must have been an error' - the international lawyers convention got upgraded no doubt...

Thin walls and the drunk Danes disturb you if your room faces the street.

Breakfast is comprehensive and the location is A1, the rooms are clean and the service is very efficient.

A bit lacking in soul.....

Okay, so this hotel was once a warehouse which is fine if you’re a bale of cotton or a sack of wheat, but unfortunately if you're a regular human being, of standard dimensions, it's all a rather claustrophobic, dark and frankly unpleasant experience. It has been converted to a sort of faux Habitat/IKEA look - but whether it's retro or just dated is slightly hard to work out - if retro, why pick the 1970's, possible the worst decade for style in living memory? All that is missing is an avocado bathroom suite - although the tastefully beige tiled bathroom, in fact the whole room, did manage to remind me of my university accommodation. So all's fine, if you don't mind cracking your head on the oak beams and pillars inconveniently dotted around your (hopelessly ill equipped) room, and wandering around its ill lit, poorly ventilated and meandering corridors. Perhaps this is just a matter of personal taste so far. But what about the things nobody likes. If you find your rooms lacks a bathrobe you can...eh buy one. And if you need an wall socket adaptor for your computer, for example, so as to make use of the pay as you go internet access, don't bother asking reception because they'll redirect you to the vending machine at the back of the lifts where you can pick one up for 50 Kr. Now that's first. And if you wake up gasping for a drink in the night, don't waste your time hunting around for what in every other hotel comes as standard, the odd bottle of drinking water, you're going to have to head for the mini bar, trying not to knock yourself out on the oak beams, or stub your toe, in the process.
Redeeming features..well it is on the waterfront, where there's bar overlooking the barges and boats moored at the quayside. And water is what Copenhagen's all about (unless it's what you're looking for at night, at least in this place, apparently). But it thoughtfully closes after 6 pm just when you need it most, and the view is at it's most picturesque. So, helpfully the waiter will redirect you to another bar altogether, buried somewhere in the gloom of the hotel. He won't actually get you a drink, or 'I’ll have to do the same for everyone else..' and I quote. I thought that's what waiters were for.
There's got to be better than this in Copenhagen.

My partner and I stayed at Admiral Hotel for 2 nights in August 2011. We selected this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and its central location within short walking distance to many tourist sites. The hotel is only 10 mins walk from the Kongens Nytorv Metro Station from which the M2 line connects to CPH. We arrived early in the morning and were delighted to have our room right away. The reception staff was very friendly and efficient. We had requested a room on high floor which we got. Our Double Room had city view which in our opinion is better than facing the water. However, we would have been happy either way. The exposed beams throughout the hotel, including our room, give a historical ambience to the hotel. The room including bathroom was clean and comfortable. It was great to be able to leisurely walk from the hotel to Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace, The Little Mermaid, and even Tivoli. We would stay here again.

Not sure if the lady at the reception speaks englisg, as I requested three times for a baby bed
There was also no kingsize beds, but only two singles with flimsy mattresses. Although requested in the reservation, not provided. Also no reply on the request.
The best was: premium prize.

Room Tip: take an other hotel
