TheAdmiral is an interesting hotel with lobely wodden beams throughout but Iwould neverstay here again.

The walls are so thin - one night I heard t he TV in the room to the left of me, the TVis the room to the right of me plus the TV in the room above me.

I also had a street view and the noise from the street and parking lot was unbearable.

Lastly, the service at the bar was horrible. If you didnt sit there waving your hands at the waiter, you would never get a drink.

On the plus side, the breakfast buffet had a wonderful assortment of food but was quite expensive 150DKK.

Excellent location but not worth the price.

We enjoyed staying here. The location was terrific. Our room had a nice view over the canal - which because the weather was well below zero was not as colorful or fun as it probably is during the spring or summer months. The breakfast was included in the room rate and was large and plentiful, including pastries and lovely danish cheeses and meats. The hotel is close to major attractions, and walking from the hotel to the palaces and museums is very easy. Very good location, and very good value. The hotel is an old renovated building with large wooden beams in the rooms. It was very charming. I don't actually recommend the sauna, as there was no shower or plunge pool with the sauna.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Canal.

Stayed at this hotel in February 2012 for 2 nights.
We were staying with children age 12 and 14, so ideally needed 2 rooms together -Made this request when booking online , and although we turned up at midday( 2 hours before the official check-in time) , the receptionist was very helpful and our rooms were ready within a few minutes- next door as requested.
Liked the decor of the rooms, with lovely wide exposed beams, and it was warm and cosy ( very important in February!) .
The rooms were long and narrow- so narrow that we had to edge slowly around the bottom of the bed to get to the other side . This seems to be a common theme in hotel reviews for Copenhagen in general. There was also extremely limited storage space- fine for people on a short stay travelling light with only hand luggage , but would have been a real problem for a longer stay. Don't book a standard room in this hotel if you're a bit claustrophobic .
We overlooked the street, but it wasn't noisy.
Tiny , but adequate bathroom, nicely done but pretty pathetic shower.
Can't comment on breakfast- there were no 'breakfast included' deals available, and £75 for a family breakfast was out of our budget , so we opted for a coffee and pastry in local cafes instead ( still not cheap , but better).
We were unable to get a table in the hotel restaurant for dinner - so book ahead if you want to eat there at a weekend.
Location overall was very good, only a couple of minutes walk to the pretty Nyhavn harbour area , a 10 minute walk along the water to the Little mermaid Statue ,and easy to get to from the airport ( we got the Metro , and then it was a 10 minute walk - not expensive and and only 30 mins door to door . The guy at the ticket office at the Airport terminal was very helpful. Bought a '10 clip' multiticket which is much cheaper than paying for individual journeys - but bear in mind that once in central Copenhagen you can walk everywhere . Worth knowing that more than 1 person can use a 'clip ticket' so long as you each punch in the card for each journey. )

If I came to Copenhagen again I would definitely stay at the Admiral again - just bear in mind it is an expensive city ( in fact the good deal we got on the hotel stay was about the only thing that was a reasonable cost all weekend ! )

This is a large converted grain store/mill type building in a very convenient location on the harbour. I was on a whirwind stop so even though the famous mermaid was only a few minutes from the hotel I never got to see it. Staff were all friendly. The room was bizzarre. On the sixth floor, the bed was on a separate level to where you walk in. The place has plenty of character, with huge wooden beams. Breakfast was very good. Plenty choices on the buffet.
The only real disappointment was with the bar. Three of us got in late and were very thirsty. You would think you would get a decent beer in Denmark, but no. They had Tuborg which was nasty and very very expensive. My colleague, a Carlberg drinker normally, only took a few sips and left it. It was that bad. Still the waiter charged him full whack. Small point but you would have expected better in Denmark.

Room Tip: Bring your own beer :)

Beautiful hotel perfectly located for seeing Copenhagen. Room was large and very interesting design as the Hotel is a converted warehouse. The Royal Palace is only a short walk away so you are located close to the center of the action in Copenhagen. The staff was friendly and very helpful.
