We stayed one night here before our cruise. It was great. It was in the perfect location, there is so mucho see in walking distance. The hotel is very true to its age, they have done a great job keeping it historic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The guests were rude but the hotel can't be blamed for that.
Definitely recommend it!

I really liked the hotel and the theme. It is an old naval warehouse built in 1780. As such it is very rustic. I would spend a couple days here but not really much longer. The rooms are rather small and the walls so thin I could hear the neighbors in the bathroom or showering or talking all night. It doesn't have A/C and although it was cool outside you have to open a large window with no screen to allow any air in. That said, it is a block from Nyhavn and it sits right on the water which is beautiful and you can take walks along the canal there. The staff was very friendly and professional as well. If you can put up with the quirks its a neat place in a perfect location.

Room Tip: Ask for waterside. On city side you'll get a lot of noise from the street below.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. It is superbly located, very close to Nyhavn which is a popular trendy eating and hang out area. The hotel staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic with a huge choice however the corridors leading to the rooms were narrow and dark. The rooms were ok but the windows were too small & recessed and out of reach, which was a pity as one side of the hotel had a great harbour facing view. The hotel opens up onto a lovely promenade..great for jogging or taking a relaxed stroll. We had booked a family room that could occupy 4 people, however one bed was not very comfortable and the bathroom was really small. For the price we were paying..this room was disappointing. We also had a double room which was adequate. The wifi was pretty fast and what i appreciated was that it stayed on for 3 days wherever you were in the hotel. After 3 days you had to simply Log in again.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a view of the harbour/sea and a room that has a proper window or balcony.

This is a very comfortable and well appointed hotel on the harbour side. It is very close to Nyhavn and all its bars and restaurants. The meal I had in the restaurant as part of a conference dinner was delicious with beef that was incredibly tender. The room was spacious and comfortable and there were no noise problems. Definitely one to come back to!

Centrally located Hotel extremely convenient which I chose for the view on the canal. However for the Deluxe Room i got the front view instead of the back (even though they gave me almost a top floor I have to admit). The room is quite small, the electricity stays on only if some lighting is on at the same time, which is inconvenient if you need to recharge multiple devices and sleep at the same time. The wooden room is impressive, but most of the outfit looks very outdated taking the 2 separate wardrobes for instance. The long waiting for the check out was unpleasant as well. 2135 dkk for a night was a bit of rip off in consideration that not even there was a free bottle of water for the stay! Definitely not impressed! The wifi was incredibly quick by my surprise!!!

Stayed here for a mixed business/pleasure trip. The positive is the location, just a short walk to Nyhavn, the Little Mermaid, Kastellet, etc. 20 minutes to Tivoli on foot, easy! Negatives for a traveler could be that in the summer, the room I was in got pretty warm (4th floor), so I slept with the door open all night (the door to the outside, not to the hallway). This means keeping the curtain open, which with the long daylight hours, could be disruptive to your sleep (or the street noise could be a negative too). For me, an eye mask handled the light, and the street didn't bother me at all.

The hotel is really interesting in terms of structure, the restaurant is nice, and the ability to get to anything you would want to do on foot was super convenient.

Clean, nice service, no complaints!

Room Tip: Higher floors on the street side, or choose a harbor side room.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
