“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2012

Nice Hotel outside Copenhagen city center (taxi about DKK 110,- from city center).
Modern, nice, clean.
Minus, the shower is not good, not good enough "preasure". And the internet connection could be poor if you have a room in the end of the hotel.

Thank you very much for your kind review. :)
We have had the water pressure in all rooms checked this week, so there are plenty of water again.
With kind regards

better hotels just down the street...stayed there only for a night and I was glad about it. breakfast included the most (and i am not lying) weird tasting scrambled eggs I have ever eaten. the shower was rather unpleasant as can be seen on the photos. the area is very remote and a large street right in front of the hotel...no recommendation here

Dear Guest,
Thank you very much for your review. We really appreciate your feedback.
I have forwarded your comments about the scrambled egg to our F&B Manager, so he can look into, what happened during breakfast that day. We normally get a lot of positive feedback on our breakfast, so something has gone wrong during your stay.
Regarding the bathroom shown in your pictures, I am so sorry. This bathroom is not our normally standard, and it does not look so in our other rooms. I have had all rooms checked to make sure, it does not look like this for our future guest´s
With kind regards
Louise Adolph

Stayed one night here. Staff needed an injection of personality. The room was average and I appreciate that this is a budget hotel they need to invest in new bed linen and pillow. The ones we slept on were a sorry excuse for pillows. Terrible!

Dear guest,
Thank you very much for your review.
I am sorry about you experience with our staff, we normally get a very possitive feedback on our staff, I will of course forward your comment to our department heads, who will take action on it.
Regarding pillows, I will kindly inform, that we do have other type of pillows, which can be borrowed free of charge. I am very sorry, that you have not been informed of this at arrival.
I hope you after all will give us or another First Hotel a change in the future.
With Kind Regards
Louise Adolph

Vi stayed two nights at the hotel. It was wonderful to go up to the jaccuzzi and stay there for half an hour. The hotel was clean.

It is outside of town but with good communications. The reception sell tickets for the public communication and bus no 10 and 30 goes straight away to the center. In the direction to the bus stop of no 30 but further on 250 meter over a small bridge is a small ferry boat how goes to Nyhavn (The restaurant area) and Opera house. The ferry boat goes only daytime and early evening every 30 (40) minute.

The staff were friendly.

First Hotel seems to be one of the better hotels (if not only) in Molestien area. It's decent enough, with a good bar menu and open plan bar area - if a little noisy. Single room was a good size, clean and confortable - again if a little noisy overnight (next to the railway, but I suppose that depends on which size of the building you get).

Breakfast was plentiful and very good. I'm due back in Copenhagen soon - would be happy enough to stay here again.

We stayed at this hotel because it was a bargain "blind"booking through
Expedia and in the end were not unhappy we were there because it exposed us to a neighborhood far from the touristy part of Copenhagen where we could see how people lived and the public transportation both by boat and bus was also a pleasant way to get around.

This hotel is definitely off the beaten track and for some might be too far from the action but it worked for us. It is in a former industrial area that is now being gentrified. Many apartments for young people nearby so if you take a little walk in the neighborhood you can encounter residents kayaking and swimming in the nearby canals and see another lifestyle.
If you don't mind a fifteen minute boat ride (picturesque) to get to the heart of town or a bus ride and eating out it is an ok place and a different experience. Except for the night clerk who was not helpful when we checked in the staff was very nice. We initially had a room that faced the street on the lower floor but asked for a change. They upgraded us the next day to a much nicer room facing a little harbor and threw in breakfast.at no charge.

There are a couple of little cafes within walking distance that serve the nighborhood and a little grocery store where you could buy cheee, wine, fruit, coldcuts, etc.if you didn't want to eat in the hotel restaurant or go out. I asked for a knife and a couple of plates and we had one of our meals in the room this way. The rest of the time we ate in the touristy area where we explored inexpensive options like eating in the department store's cafeteria (typical and interesting Danish food and no tourists there). If the price suits your budget, expensive meals are not your thing and you don't mind spending a little time decompressing on a boat or bus before you do the heavy duty sightseeing I say go for it. It is clean and the beds were comfortable.

Room Tip: stayn on the upper floors facing the little harbor. A train does go by that side but not frequently...
