Reviewed October 7, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Great spacious villa set in beautiful grounds. My wife and I had a brilliant stay.

We loved the location, peaceful and tranquil with nice views over the hills. 25 minutes drive or so and you were on the coast. We tried out Praia da Marinha which was gorgeous, probably about 35 minutes away. Go there in early morning as it can get a bit busy later on.

Restaurants were just about walkable as well, which was something we were looking for. O Alagar/Cafe Nicola was about 20 minutes walk away, maybe a bit longer if taking it slow, and was quite tasty. Paderne villages was another 15 mins further on with a few restaurants to try. We went to Os Arcos had a delicious Cataplana. Great value as well.

It was so peaceful in the villa, with lots of space and a lovely pool. It was kind of difficult to motivate yourself to go out to many places as it was so relaxing there. Highly recommended.

Stephanie was excellent in communications beforehand, and very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and a taxi number if needed. I nearly gave this a 5, but there were a few minor issues which lost it a point. For example, the cleaners were there for a good couple of hours after we first arrived, even though no one had been staying there for many days and we arrived at our estimated time. The fault was with the company helping to run the villa rather than the owner though.

Overall a great end to our anniversary trip to Portugal and would happily stay there again. In fact looking at the rain outside, I kind of want to go there now...

Hi Michael. Thanks so much for taking the time to write this super review. Apologies again about the cleaners being there when you arrived. That has been dealt with now and I hope that you will return to the Villa in the future.

“Relaxation!!”
Reviewed August 24, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

We have just returned from a brilliant 2 week stay at Kaya Kwanga. If you are after peace and quiet in an area of the Algarve that feels less touristic, but yet within 30 minutes drive of most places then this villa is ideal. Stephanie has provided plenty of information about the area and recommended places to eat and visit. A car is essential for getting around, however the village of Paderne is about a 15 minute walk, where there are a few nice local and very cheap restaurants, a couple of small shops which stock most items and a chemist. Albufeira is about 20 minutes from the villa, if you must visit there! Villamoura also about 20 minutes drive. The lovely old city of Silves is within a 30 minute drive, it's very picturesque.
There were 7 of us in our party, myself and husband, our 4 children (17,9,7,4) and my mother. The villa was extremely comfortable and had more than enough space for us all. The pool area is lovely, plenty of sun loungers, parasols and inflatables for the kids. There is a lovely deck area which is shaded from about lunch time onwards and was lovely to sit at and have a late lunch or a BBQ, which we did many times. The kitchen is very well equipped with cutlery, crockery, pots, dishes etc, and an ample supply of wine glasses The bedrooms are very comfortable and all with air conditioning, essential for the hot temperatures we had during our stay.
We would not hesitate to return to Kaya Kwanga and hope to in the near future.

“brilliant family holiday”
Reviewed August 17, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We stayed in villa kaya kwanga at the end of July for 9 nights. Myself ,my wife ,my daughter ,her partner and their 5 kids ranging from 2 to 14 all had a great holiday.
The area was lovely and peaceful (until we arrived :-) )
The villa was huge and very comfortable. Beds were comfy and air con and fans kept us nice and cool during the heatwave that we experienced. Temps in the mid forties.
The beautiful pool was the favorite meeting place and the kids spent many happy hours there. My other two daughters followed us out and there was an 18 hour cross over period where their accommodation was not ready so at one stage there was 15 of us for one night and we all managed to get a good nights sleep in a bed. The beds had mosquito nets and not one ofus got a bite.
We had some lovely reasonably priced meals in and around Paderne , much nicer food and far better value than in Albufeira.
We visited zoo marine and Algarve shoppng mall and they were both very convenient to get to from the villa.
This was a beautiful villa and a great memorable holiday and we all hope to return to villa kaya kwanga in the not too distant future. Don't hesitate to book it. you will not be disapointed.
A big thank you to Stephanie, Rob and Amanda and we hope to see you all again soon.

“Just so relaxing and a beautiful place. Perfect base to explore the real Algarve”

Kaya Kwanga is in the most beautiful setting - stunning views and wonderful birdsong are my strongest memories. The Villa is very spacious, with plenty of room for the 9 people it is advertised as capacity. You definitely need a car (although we did walk into the local village one day for a lovely lunch and bottle of Rose!) - and take care on the narrow lanes to access it, but it is very much worth it when you get there. We loved the balconies / decking on all sides which meant you could catch the sun while reading a book at any time of day. The grounds, and pool area are beautiful and especially the small retreat built in the meadow beside the house. Perfect for our early morning Yoga. The house is the perfect mix of shady/cool rooms of authentic Portugal on the ground floor, with a modern open sunny aspect first floor. Everything you could want is provided - and the very helpful Amanda, our contact there, made sure we had whatever we needed. Would recommend exploring the neighbouring villages in the hills - Alte in particular was worth a visit - and also the smaller villages on the coast. We weren't keen on Alubfeira - but loved Alvor and some of the other smaller places, where the restaurants served beautiful fish dishes along with stunning sea views. If you are looking for relaxation, space, nature and all mod cons to go with it - then this is the place for you. It is refreshingly different to the plain, modern, run of the mill villas you often get these days - more authentic, a taste of the real Portugal and all the better for it.

“Fantastic place for relax in the superb location! Absolutely the best in Algarve”

We arrived to Paderne, to Kaya Kwanga from Lisbon and were overwhelmed immediately with the peacefulness and quietness of this fantastic place! The vila is absolutely fabulous, it is very tastefully decorated, and amazingly spacious for few couples traveling together. We were met upon arrival by the lady who showed us around and granted the keys. What very much surprised us that we had perfect internet connection as well as cable TV with hundreds of channels in the middle of nowhere!!
The rooms were very clean, they all have separate AC, thus the sleep is perfect. The beds and WCs and showers are indeed perfect and very tastefully decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you might need for your delicious meals (we even found a stick blender for our fish soup!). There are several BBQ sets outside and the whole property is designed so that people can spend time not distracting each other.
The cherry on the cake was a swimming pool. Very clean, pleasantly refreshing, equipped with plastic chairs and set of plastic dishes to use at the pool.
All property around the house is amazing - with old almond and olive trees, blooming bushes and flowers. My husband and I enjoyed jogging every morning around the tiny villages with stunning views.
If you are looking for a relaxing stay in a very comfortable environment, this is the place to choose. Very highly recommended, indeed. We are looking forward to return here next year, and we are planing to stay much longer!

“weather in the algarve was not great in March but the villa was first class”
Reviewed May 11, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

a group of three of us had a very pleasant 10 day stay stay in Kaya Kwanga in mid March. The Algarve weather was not great for our visit but the villa itself was first class. It is in a beautiful secluded location just outside the village and was very clean and tidy and has everything needed for a holiday location. That included a gorgeous pool and a nice relaxing terrace. It is quiet and secluded and most things you need can be found in the very friendly shops in the local village of Paderne. But it is also within a 15 minute drive of the large Algarve Shopping Centre at Ghia and the whole Albufeira coastal area with its many delightful bays and eating places. Also relatively close to a range of golf courses.

With its swimming pool and generally relaxed atmosphere It would seem to be an ideal spot for families who like a degree of privacy while still being in striking distance of all the attractions of the Algarve coast
