My husband and I visited to Vasa Museum in March and were blown away! We thought, an old ship with a building around it--a quick 15 minute visit. WRONG! This museum does an outstanding job of presenting the history of this ill-fated voyage of a few yards. There is a free movie, as well as a free tour--we recommend both.
The ship is surrounded by multiple levels of ramps leading to different floors. This allows you to view the Vasa from all angles, above and below. It is fascinating to think this sank in front of everyone on its maiden voyage, and then became simply forgotten.
We also used the audio guide available via your phone. In addition, the cafeteria had unusual and delicious food.
Do not miss, overlook, or bypass this gem!
