Owner description: The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm 1628. After 333 years on the sea bed the mighty warship was salvaged and the voyage could continue. Today Vasa is the world's only preserved 17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia.

My husband and I visited to Vasa Museum in March and were blown away! We thought, an old ship with a building around it--a quick 15 minute visit. WRONG! This museum does an outstanding job of presenting the history of this ill-fated voyage of a few yards. There is a free movie, as well as a free tour--we recommend both.

The ship is surrounded by multiple levels of ramps leading to different floors. This allows you to view the Vasa from all angles, above and below. It is fascinating to think this sank in front of everyone on its maiden voyage, and then became simply forgotten.

We also used the audio guide available via your phone. In addition, the cafeteria had unusual and delicious food.

Do not miss, overlook, or bypass this gem!

This far exceeded our expectations for this museum, an amazing learning experience. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

I’m not much if a museum lover but my husband is and so we had to visit whilst in town. I was pleasantly surprised how good this museum was and really enjoyed my visit. It’s include as part of the Stockholm pass which we got a 2 day pass and did loads of things. Recommend joining a tour around the museum as the tour guides are very good.

We had seen the Vasa in a guide book so were keen to see it. It is an amazing museum with a fascinating story to it. Would definitely recommend it for everyone.

We attended on a holiday weekend so very crowded. It was tough to maneuver around people and also dark inside (tough to see for older people). Otherwise the exhibits were wonderful to see. Would like to go back when it is less crowded.
